This week has been a bit of a wash out (or should that be white out!) with the "Beast from the East" hitting us hard (especially Sim out on the East coast!) but you still have plenty of work to do! On Monday we managed a lesson to complete our understanding of translocation in plants, carrying out a practical on how to show starch in a leaf (make sure you can remember the method for this by writing it into your books). On Wednesday you were supposed to be sitting an exam to test you on the whole of module 3, but not many students turned up to the lesson. I set work to complete the unit by looking at adaptability in plants to help with water transport and storage in areas of low availability using the padlet below. This means that YOU WILL BE SITTING THE EXAM ON MONDAY 5TH MARCH! BE PREPARED!!!
https://padlet.com/simone_hawkins/a95adap

We will be carrying out two PAGs on Wednesday - the first one is similar to the practical we did on Monday using seeded agar plates. The second is a retry of the sampling PAG we did a few weeks ago where we went to the greensward to sample the plants. The worksheets for both of these have been added above.

I also reminded you that your mock will be in 3 weeks time and gave you a checklist of everything that may be covered by this exam. Don't forget, this exam is important as it will help us to determine if it is right for you to carry on into year 13 education.
