This has a few reasons. The first is to keep animals from burrowing into its trunk, keeping the tree alive much longer. The second is to keep animals from eating the tree sap, because the gum- like sap is difficult to eat. 

Baobab: The Baobab tree has adapted to have a really thick trunk so that it can conserve water. It allows it to lose less water from the heat and the sun.

It is a good adaptation because it gives more options for obtainable food.  

Cheetah-  The cheetah has adapted to both have very fast running speeds and great camouflage to blend in with the grasses. Both are great for efficient hunting.

Many animals are also being killed illegally by poachers selling exotic animal products

Ways to protect it: Do not purchase any ivory or exotic- pelt items, as they are likely illegally poached from illegal hunting methods in the Tropical Grasslands. Reduce your carbon footprint as well, so that the environment of the grasslands can still be habitable to the myriad of organisms.
