One way I want to try and use voice and choice this year is in math. I liked the idea that had students choice their own project within a topic to learn about the particular math skill being presented. I have not yet attempted PBL in math so I think this would be a fun way to try it out.

I like the idea of a book study. In the past I have done book projects and group book studies over social issues, and I'd like to do that again. I could maybe incorporate the learning menus into that.

One of my biggest concerns (or fears) is losing some ability to engage in meaningful conversations with students about what they truly want to explore in class when we may not be in the same physical location. Some improvement in lesson formatting/design may help, but I need to make sure to cultivate that trust so that students are still able to take academic risks in my class, even if they're not physically in my class.
