Our project’s name is “I gave 1 minute of my life” and we named it this way because our main objective was to show people that in 1 minute they can contribute with several volunteer actions that can help, protect and preserve our environment. Some examples of those actions are to recycle, to turn off the lights when we don’t used them, not to waste unneeded water, to plant trees, to pick up trash, to walk or use public transports instead of cars.

That way, we intend to make our voices reach around 500 people and tried to make them change some behaviours that are harming our planet Earth. We spread our message on Instagram, on Facebook, on the radio of our town and with posters. Furthermore, to count the people whom we talk to, we took pictures of them and we also asked some of them to commit themselves to chance by promising “Next week I will walk to school”. We want them to reflect about the environmental problems that we are living today and the worst ones that the next generation will face.

Until now, this project has been really rewarding. That’s because we receive several positive feedbacks from the people that we talk to. In addition, we’re actually happy because we realized that we are not the only ones worried about our Planet. In spite of some difficulties, we are sure that we change some lifestyles. People are realizing that it’s not so difficult to spend 1 minute of their days helping the Environment… Furthermore, they will win that minute back if the quality of life improves.

Some of this actions are to not waste unneeded water, to turn off the lights, to pick up the trash of the streets, to plant a tree and also to walk and to use public means of transport instead of using our cars.
