Design a draft of contract to establish what are the roles and rules in a training course or projects.

It would helpful even to decide a minimum wage.

Trainers should plan efficiently there time in order to make some space into their busy schedule to attend at least in one/two trainings. It is valuable for their professional development and for ensuring as well quality in the trainings that they deliver!

Discussions about taxes in advance

Trainer or Facilitator

Am I expected just to facilitate the group or to prepare methods, create the flow, follow the progress?

Trainer is a person, who trains someone on something. This person should be a professional in some topics and participants want some knowledge, methodology, tools, material from me.

Facilitator is opening space for debate and exchange between participants.

Would be great to know the role of the trainer/facilitator in advance and also to inform participants about the programme style.

However, the group is not in the 100% agreement on this.

Positive experience with an NGO

I had a very positive experience where my expectation of what my job is was very aligned with what the organisation expected from me: creating the program, holding the group etc., but no project management or coordination work.

I had an experience where I was suddenly asked from me to take on different responsibilities and roles that - in my perspective- were outside of my responisibilities as a trainer.

Can't book travel until receive contract.

Contract gets stuck in NA system.

Travel time - should book in advance, get cheap options.

And cost, and impact in environment for number of flights, insecurity of project. Mental health of trainers!

They know the timeline in the Workplan (organised October year before), why not do things more in advance?

Would be good to have a policy that foresees fees in case of a training being cancelled due to force majeur, for example, a certain % if the training is cancelled 1 month before, a bigger % if cancelled 2 weeks before and even a bigger amount if the training is cancelled few days before. This was my experience with the Norwegian NA

The payment of the fee should happen in at least 2 instalments: in between preparation and implementation and then after the the training is delivered with its final report. The preparation is work, that happens for weeks and months before the implementation of a TC

To propose a unit cost for a facilitator/trainer can be positive and negative as well.

It is positive because will clarify the role and incomes as a trainer. But how it will calucluated? If the unit cost is settle might be too low for people live in "expesive countries"

Preparation for the TC

Preparation for the training made by and for NAs and Salto starts much earlier, has plenty of time for preparation, there is special person who takes care of logistics and organisation and really shows quality.

KA1 often cannot afford extra preparation, support. Too many activities fall also on the shoulders of the trainers. There should be special fee for the trainers.

Too much money is wasted by NAs on location instead of paying the trainers.

Besides of trainer's competencies, training on specific methods would be super relevant for the further development of a trainer. Besides of "How to?" the question of "What?" to "teach or pass through" is also relevant, and it would be great to provide training opportunities as well. (The knowledge is already within the field, but long-term high quality trainings are expensive.) Still: less places, better quality!

Need to clarify the role of the Trainer - Facilitator - Expert. They all seem to go in the same basket...

I would appreacieted if in the projects KA1 the trainers could travel 1 or 2 days before the activity starts. The application form does not allow trainers/facilitator to travel before for preparation.

Concellation should not be calculated only by force majories, but other events.
