Edmund talks of the nature of children: either you are a true born or are put to shame for being illegitimate.

"e'er since thou mad'st thy daughter thy mothers" (l.132-133)
There is an inversion in the natural order and the children find themselves being in control and the elders having no choice but to obey.

Act1, Scene 1 This scene introduces Edmond Gloucester's bastard son. The theme of nature there relates to the natural order of procreation which makes of Edmond an illegitimate son. Edmond is trying to reverse this natural order (a typical struggle of fighting faith /supernatural force in a tragedy) as he calls on nature to stand by his efforts to get hold of his believed true position.

Act 1, Scene 4

The Fool lets appear, that the king reversed the natural order in the first place by retiring at an earlier age which unleashed a calamity. Once Lear decides to abandon Goneril, too, he calls upon nature to make her sterile forever so she might never have children. He is asking nature to defend him with quite a cruel request “Into her womb convey sterility”
