A garlic and honey ferment is simple and easy to make which is perfect for winter colds and sore throats with an added antibacterial effect.
Use a clean jar and full it with peeled garlic cloves and top it up with honey till almost at the top. Open the jar everyday for the first few days to burp it then let it continue to ferment for the next couple of months with the lid closed. The honey will gradually turn to a darker colour and become quite runny. This ferment will last years. I've used a bush blend honey from my neighbour but you could use Manuka honey.
Tracy

For me Naturopathy is a multifaceted approach to health, used to support the bodies innate intelligence, a naturopath spends thier life developing knowledge about the tools the natural world provides to facilitate the bodies built in desire to heal, repair, rebalance and thrive, to do this we need to understand not only how the bodies physical systems intrinsically work but also understand the impact of the environment it is exposed to. Each person is incredibly unique with an array of experiences that shape who they are and Naturopathy taps into this by aiming to understand the person as apposed to the symptom or disease the person is experiencing, and by doing so facilities long term health bennifits.
Naturopaths empower and educate others to forge a loving relationship and connection to thier health and well-being, this aspect is particularl special to special to me as it is something that sets Naturopathy apart from allopathic practices.... a naturopath understands that thier client is an authority and expert of thier body and use an approach that is collaborative and empowering for thier clients.

Dayna Thompson

It may look unusual at first sight, but when pondering the essence of naturopathy, I could not help but relate it to something called tensegrity. This is a model utilised by body therapists to demonstrate the connectedness of all our body parts - if we pull or compress on one side, it will affect the entire system. A headache may thus be entertained by muscle imbalances in the hip. Naturopathy means to look at the entire person ( beyond the physical dimension) - we may experience gastrointestinal upsets, but the cause may stem from an imbalance of another organ or system, e.g. stress and anxiety.
