The rules of the table tennis are quite simple:  two or four players hit a lightweight ball, also known as the ping-pong ball, back and forth across a table using small solid rackets. The game takes place on a hard table divided by a net. Except for the initial serve, the rules are generally as follows: players must allow a ball played toward them to bounce once on their side of the table and must return it so that it bounces on the opposite side at least once. A point is scored when a player fails to return the ball within the rules. Play is fast and demands quick reactions. Spinning the ball alters its trajectory and limits an opponent's options, giving the hitter a great advantage.  

Table tennis requires intelligence, good reaction time, concentration, coordination and decision making. There are no age limits to play the game but there are some essential qualities needed to improve the ability to play the game and to be the best player. 

 First of all it is the speed as the serves, strokes and footwork involve the use of speed and quickness. Some of the gamers just start playing loops with their partners and play the game for a very long time trying not to lose the ball. 

 The second is the accuracy. A good table tennis player must be accurate in their techniques. They must execute powerful and precise shots to be able to dominate their opponent. 

 The third is the anticipation. By applying effective tactics and strategy a player can calculate and predict their opponents reaction. He tries to anticipate his opponents serves, returns and strokes. 

The forth is the footwork. It’s good if you can develop good judgment ability to achieve rapid movement in the game. 

Some students play table tennis just for fun, some of them master the above four qualities and become more competitive when playing in table tennis tournaments and win matches. Almost every year we are the recipients of numerous cups for the school municipal competitions.
