I do not see much difference in the success rate of special education students between 2018 and 2019. The meets hovers right around the teens. Co-teaching would benefit here because the state standards would be taught with specialized accommodations, and or modifications to increase the likelihood that special needs students master the skills to be successful on standardized tests.

I noticed a small improvement from 2018 to 2019 in only two content areas, ELA/Reading and Math. Without knowing the scores for individual grade levels, it is difficult to analyze the role co-teaching would play. However, from an elementary level, students receiving inclusion ideally receive it in the above content areas. The need for co-teaching in other content areas usually isn't addressed until they are assessed at a state-level. Even then, it is often too late.

I really could not see much of a difference in scores between 2019 and 2018. The biggest takeaway for me was the discrepancy between sped and not sped scores. That discrepancy is huge. Co-teaching would be beneficial in that students would be receiving grade level instruction with specialized modifications and accommodations & supports.

LIke others have mentioned, I think the biggest takeaway is how much of a benefit that co-teach could possibly help SpEd students with STAAR testing. Having students in more general ed classrooms would allow them to benefit from the skills and knowledge taking place there and then just altering for need. This data tells me co-teach is a no brainer.

What is striking in the difference between Sped and non Sped scores. I know that we go through this at length in our district and try to make sure improvements happen from year to year. Doesn't always happen, but attempts are made to ensure that Sped students get more targeted instruction.

I did not see a huge difference. Co-teaching would help by providing the students the extra support they need in the lower performing areas.
