Through this type of training, you can receive the skills and real-life experience necessary to obtaining a position in which you enjoy. 

There is typically a required test or exam that results in a certificate allowing the student to immediately begin practicing the trade of their choice. 

Many individuals lead fulfilling and successful lives after attending a trade/vocational institution as opposed to a traditional four year college.

Because the military pays for heir student's education there are a few steps to be taken once you have fully committed to one of the 5 branches. They are as follows:
1. Take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) - a multiple choice test intended to discover capabilities.
2. Pass the physical exam
3. Discuss career options with a military appointed counselor
4. Take the oath of enlistment
5. Decide whether to be deployed to basic training immediately or delay the entry program.
