Therefore I am not that aroused about the reading. I just feel as if that the author could make the book better. 

I think the setting is the most interesting part of the novel because as a reader we don't know exactly where the story of Hatchet takes place because Brian is very, very lost. We do know that Brian's plane comes down somewhere in the North Woods, a vast area that covers much of central Canada. As a reader it leaves our minds rolling about where Brian is traveling and how is he going to survive in an area he isn't familiar with. 

I have been put in a comparable situation to Brain when he had to take power if he wanted to survive. I was in a vehicle with a drunk driver and it was let a drunk person drive home or I could drive. This novel is based on a 13-year-old who is named Brian. Brian is coming from a family who is going through a divorce and his mother is putting him on a plane which will put Brian in a situation on a plane. The pilot who is flying the plane has had a heart attack. Brian was giving a wake-up call that he had to control the plane if he wanted to stay alive. Once he has crashed the plane into the wildlife of Canadian forest he must learn how to survive. I chose this song because it is describing how a person is put in a life or die situation and how they are willing to kill anyone or anything to survive. "He crawled out the doorway and was the sin the sand, then crawled still farther and was sick again, vomiting and with terrible diarrhea for over an hour, for over a year he thought until he was, at last, empty and drained of all strength."  - I find this quote important because it is explaining how Brain hunger in the wild takes over and he sees berries and eats them and now they are describing what he is going through. 

Pg 84. " Clearly there had to be something for the sparks to ignite, some kind of tinder or kindling--but what?" - This quote is important because as a reader Brian has been put to work to complete a specific project, such as hunting or building a shelter, he learns by trial-and-error. If certain methods fail to succeed, Brian learns from his mistakes rather than continuing on them.

Pg 132. "It wasn't just keeping from starving---it was trying to save ahead, think ahead."  - This quote is very important because now Brian isn't just thinking about how to survive each day but now he has come to the conclusion that he does know how long he's going to be fighting to survive so he is saving food for the future.
