In other words, kids can figure out where things are located and how to access them fairly easy.]]> 2017-01-20 14:06:48 UTC https://padlet.com/GinniBeaty/LMS_Review/wish/148356147 Reagan https://padlet.com/GinniBeaty/LMS_Review/wish/148375586 I love that Blackboard allows you to organize everything just like a filing cabinet (with sections, content folders, etc.)  This really models digital organizational skills, allow students to find materials easily, and allows teachers to organize content (by week, topic, or whatever makes the most sense.)  I want an LMS that allows us to build out a robust, organized curriculum if we want to.  I know some elementary teachers would prefer just to drop assignments daily though.  So if we can have both, all the better!  

The one thing that I don't love about Bb is that you can't make your class the landing page (instead it sends students to the district dashboard.) For elementary, that adds clicks, but also makes it difficult for littles to figure out where they're supposed to go. I feel our students have to relearn how to use Bb for every year and every class.

Ease of use - keep it simple. If it could sync with students' mobile devices easier (at least for the calendar) that would be great.

A LMS must have an ability to create tests. I would love an easier method than Bb.

I really feel a new LMS must have the ability to use our current tests and quizzes in Bb.
