Oskar Schindler, a German businessman and Nazi Party member, saved around 1,200 Jews during the Holocaust by employing them in his factories and claiming they were essential workers. He bribed Nazi officials to keep them from being sent to concentration camps and even created "Schindler’s List" to protect them from Auschwitz. Spending his fortune on food, medicine, and bribes, he ensured their survival.

JOYe&Shara

Irena Sendler (1910–2008), a Polish social worker, risked her life to rescue over 2,500 Jewish children from the Warsaw Ghetto during WWII. Working with the underground organization Żegota, she used creative tactics—smuggling kids in stretchers, suitcases, or ambulances—and forged Catholic birth certificates to disguise their identities. Arrested in 1943, she hid a list of the children’s real names in glass jars, later using it to reconnect survivors with families. Awarded Poland’s White Eagle Medal and nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, Sendler embodied moral courage, proving one person’s resolve can defy systemic evil. Her story, rediscovered by American students in 1999, remains a testament to humanity’s resilience against tyranny.

Initially paid, he continued supporting them with his wife Magdalena and coworker Stefan Wróblewski using personal resources after the refugees' funds ran out. For 14 months under German occupation, they provided food and shelter, saving 10 lives. Socha died in 1946 pushing his daughter from a Soviet military truck's path. In 1978, Israel honored the Sochas as Righteous Among the Nations, followed by the Wróblewskis in 1981.

Raoul Wallenberg

Raoul Gustaf Wallenberg (4 August 1912 – disappeared 17 January 1945) was a Swedish architect, businessman, diplomat, and humanitarian. He saved thousands of Jews in German-occupied Hungary during the Holocaust from German Nazis and Hungarian fascists during the later stages of World War II. While serving as Sweden's special envoy in Budapest between July and December 1944, Wallenberg issued protective passports and sheltered Jews in buildings which he declared as Swedish territory.Although some have claimed that Wallenberg was responsible for rescuing 100,000 Jews who survived the Holocaust in Hungary, historians regard that figure as an exaggeration;Yad Vashem estimates the number of people granted protective paperwork as about 4,500 individuals.

The history of the Jewish people spans thousands of years, beginning with the ancient Hebrews and the rise and fall of the Kingdoms of Israel. After multiple diasporas, they preserved their identity through Judaism and culture despite persecution in the Middle Ages. The modern Zionist movement emerged in the 19th century, leading to the establishment of Israel in 1948, following the tragic Holocaust. Their journey is marked by migration, resilience, and a deep cultural and religious heritage that continues to influence the world.
