OVER REACH BOOT


 Over reach boots are worn by horses to prevent them from over reaching. This is when the back hoof of the horse clips the front one resulting in either pulled shoes, cuts or abrasion around the heel and pastern area.


Over reach boots are worn on the 


 front legs and must fit snug around the pastern and cover the bulbs of the heels with 1cm clearance off the ground.

Tendon Boots are used to support the tendons behind the leg at the front of the horse. These Boots are use in show jumping where the horse can catch the tendon with the back hooves. The front of the boot is open so that the horse can feel where the pole is and pick up his front legs and not knock any poles down. 
Fetlock Boots are used to help protect the fetlock joint from knocks from the opposite hind leg. Ideal for shock absorption and they are designed to fit around the horses leg shape.

what are they?
They are boots that prevent your horse or pony from over reaching. This can cause bruises, cuts and abrasions around your horse's heel and pastern area.

How to correctly fit them?
The over reach boot should be fitted nice and snug around the pastern. To stop it from moving too much. the boots should cover the bulbs of heel and also have 1 cm of clearance from the ground.

Conformation?
Horse's who generally have a shorter back will have problems with their legs clashing with each other for example thoroughbreds. Where as for example cobs are more built and stocky.
