My fiction book "Nil" by Lynne Matson relates to my nonfiction book "Endangered Oceans" written by Helga Schier by how in the book "Nil" they are a group of teenagers who wake up on a mysterious island and have 365 days to find a way out. During their journey they have troubles trying to keep a supply of water because of the pollution. In my nonfiction book "Endangered Oceans" they explain that water pollution is one of the main problems as to why our waters are in endangered.

Title: Endangered Oceans
Authors: Helga Schier
Genre: Natural Science

I choose to read this book because it was based on the ocean and natural sciences. I have always been interested in the science subjects. Topics based off of oceans, like endangered sea creatures or water illnesses have always kept an interest to me

This book does not have an exact author, but most of the information is based off of GALE's resources, and I have used their resources many times for projects. They are always reliable.

This genre has always been a favorite of mine. I love nature and respect it in all ways.

The Main Point

The main point of this nonfiction book is that our oceans are in danger. There are many reasons as to why our waters are in danger. For example, water pollution, over fishing, and acidification. Some people have tried to find ways to protect and save but cant always find evidence as to why in time.

The story of our oceans

The topic of this book is endangered oceans and what people are doing to endanger them. Scientists' are trying to find solutions to the many problems causing to happen to our oceans.

The setting of this book is obviously our oceans.

The conflict that is being explained in this book is that people don't understand the amount of damage they are doing to our oceans. The ocean doesn't just contain water, it contains actual living organisms like plants and fish. With the amount of damage we do, like water polluting, these organisms won't have a chance at surviving.

I personally really liked this book. It had tons of information that answered my many questions about the problems in the ocean. I had never realized about some of the problems, like acidification, which is when too much carbon dioxide is taken in and the shelled organisms that live as zooplankton die off because of that.

The author also did a great job with using a unique writing style. They used many questions and took scientists theory's or solutions to problems to answer them.

I believe that people like me who enjoy learning about natural sciences would definitely enjoy reading this. If you are a reader that likes to read about endangered life or just science in general, you would enjoy reading about how our coral reefs are dying off or why so much acidification is forming. For example, if you want to know how over fishing came into play and how they try to control it, you would learn about the process.

If you are a reader who does not enjoy reading about natural sciences, you would not enjoy reading this book.

The Narrator is using Third Person point of view.
The author doesn't really used unusual word choice. The author mainly uses lots of factual information from scientists and people who try to research new ways to protect our waters. In this case, there is no dialogue used.
