""And that," put in the Director sententiously, "that is the secret of happiness and virtue-liking what you've got to do. All conditioning aims at that: making people like their unescapable social destiny."" (16)
This quote shows how this world is controlling people's happiness. They alter their brains so they believe that the only way they'll be happy is if they accept their social stances within this world. Being told what makes them happy and what makes them upset is all they know. So they choose to follow all of these roles to become "happy."

(16)

just from this quote, you can tell that the people here aren't truly alive. they're stuck with whatever role they're given and trained to love it. they're trained to the point where they can't live without it-- like how the quote explains how the center designs adults to be miners, by making sure they will feel at best in the heat. it gives you a clear vision that this society wants people to stay the same, to never leave their role.

The whole of a small factory staffed with the products of a single bokanovskified egg"(7).

During the industrial revolution, factories and the assembly line rose to popularity due to their high efficiency. Common products that would've taken hours or even days to create took mere minutes to process. Technology was very powerful in the industry. In the first chapter of Brave New World, Huxley introduces a dystopian society that heavily relies on similar types of new, advanced machinery.

(7)
"No longer anonymous, but named, identified, the procession marched slowly on; on through an opening in the wall, slowly on into the Social Predestination Room." (10)
The book shows how many people are made identically from the same egg. Approximately hundreds of people can be made to look the exact same. Not only this but they from the day they are processed have their whole lives planned by the factory. They refer to it as Predestination. This can be determined if they are an alpha, beta, delta, or etc. From this distinction their jobs and life are set for them.

By the time they were decanted the embryos had a horror of cold." (16)
The book introduces us to the machinery that goes into producing human adults through a whole line of processes. It''s revealed that this process already controls everyone's destiny, designing them from the moment an egg is combined with sperm. The center controls how each person will look, think, and act using the new technology that has been created.

What man has joined, nature is powerless to put asunder."
"... why you couldn't have lower-caste people wasting the community's time over books, and that there was always the risk of their reading something which might undesirably decondition one of their reflexes.." (22)

This chapter highlights the conditioning of infants for the sake of society. Using Pavlov's method, they condition the infants accordingly to their rank, like is seen with the Deltas as they are conditioned to hate books and flowers. More can be seen on page 27, in which hypnopaedia is used to condition the Betas into believing in the hierarchy and the idea of classism and racism. At this point, we can see how the rankings play a role in how you are brought up and that you are designed from the moment you are born to hit into a nold.

(21)
This section is conditioning. It's to control the kids at a young age on what to dislike. In this scene, they got Delta babies and had them play with books and flowers, then played a loud noise and electric shocked them. This conditioned them to fear books (knowledge) and flowers (beauty). They use their technology to over power them and make sure they always have control over everything everyone does.

Once again, a strong, healthy economy fueled by consumption proves to play an essential role within their society.
