there are many people with special needs whether it be severe or not.
The 4 main groups of special needs is physical, developmental, behavioral/emotional and sensory impaired. As a result, there are many organisations to help these people learn and interact with others for example Rainbow centre, an education system for children aged 7-18 which is taught by teachers, phycologists, and many different therapists specialised in different areas. The fact that there are many centres as such show that Singapore is still trying to help these people and the government is trying not to leave such people out in events and programs. But in a large community of strangers, these people with special needs still stand out and if they do not try to socialise with others, many a times they are left alone. No matter how much the government helps these people, what we can do is to include them in the activities we do and not stay away from them because it is not their fault they are born this way and they are just like any of us with a bit of disability

The situation with special needs is actually quite prevalent in Singapore, even if many of us do not know about it. There are organisations that serve to protect and to care for these people, to give them a better life. Special needs would probably be define as people who have health conditions that cause them to be unable to do certain things- for example, people with down syndrome, blind people, etc.
I myself know a few people who have special needs- my aunt is slightly autistic. However, she is still able to work and earn money for a living.
Looking at her case, I feel that people with special needs should be given the chance to play an effort in society, even as small as the contribution may be. They deserve their humanly rights and freedom

Some of which are due to medical or mental illnesses and psychologically. There are quite a lot of special needs people and we should be more understanding and patient with them. A lot of special needs kids in my opinion are thought of as acting a bit crazy and like kids whom parents didn't teach them well.
Most of the time it is because they cannot help it so we should be more patient towards them

People with special needs may only need a little help or could need a lot of help from people. For example, they could even need help breathing, eating and moving about. People may also look down of them due to their disability, getting a job is tough for them as shop owners may not want to hire them due to the mindset that they may hinder the company's progress. Getting a education can be tough too as there are not many schools available. There are so a few organisations working to help such people such as Community Chest. Some people with special needs might end up in normal stream schools

I know that these people may or may not be born with these disabilities, but they deserve to be treated as equal, and they also deserve to live a 'normal' life, like the rest of us. Therefore, I understand that we should do the best we can to help them, be it through VIA projects or even just volunteering during our free time. However, they may find some things, that we find normal, uncomfortable, and so we need to take their point of view into consideration and find ways to help them effectively.
