Few people are as mysterious and influential when it comes to business and taking calculated risks as Bitcoin's pseudonymous creator, Satoshi Nakamoto. Although Nakamoto's identity is still one of the biggest mysteries on the internet, there is no denying their impact on the development of digital currency. In his white paper "Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System," released in 2008, Satoshi Nakamoto laid the foundation for a decentralised digital currency that would function without the involvement of intermediaries as banks. The original Bitcoin software was made available by Nakamoto in January 2009, and the genesis block was mined at that time, officially launching the cryptocurrency. The risk associated with this venture was enormous. Nakamoto was risking the fundamentals of international financial institutions and running the possibility of legal action. Not only did the developers of Bitcoin need to possess extraordinary abilities in computer science and cryptography, but they also needed to have the intuition to launch a revolutionary invention that might fail miserably. Up until the middle of 2010, Nakamoto worked with other engineers on the Bitcoin source code repository. After that, he essentially vanished from the public eye by giving others control of the repository. Nakamoto's projected bitcoin holdings as of November 2021 range from 750,000 to 1,100,000, which would have increased their net worth to $73 billion at the peak of the cryptocurrency's value.

Elon Musk is the co-founder of PayPal, which for many entrepreneurs may have been enough for a successful career in itself, but it was just the jumping off point for him. Musk has since gone on to create Tesla Motors, the electric car company whose stock was up 625 percent in 2013 over 2012; and Space X, the first private company to send and dock a space shuttle at the International Space Station. He is also co-founder of Solar City, a national residential solar panel provider. With so many literally out-of-this-world achievements, there are even infographics circulating that he's the real Tony Stark. So what's the trick? Tons of hard work, calculated risks and being okay with failing are the tools needed. Elon summed this up best in a January 2005 interview, "There's a silly notion that failure's not an option at NASA. Failure is an option here. If things are not failing, you are not innovating enough."

In a world dominated by gas guzzlers, Elon Musk envisioned a future powered by electric vehicles. Founding Tesla was a leap into the unknown, fraught with financial peril and industry skepticism.
