Khusyuk in salah means to humble oneself and focus entirely on Allah, with calm and composed movements during prayer. It brings many benefits, such as raising one’s rank, bringing blessings and allowing a person to taste the sweetness of worship. Khusyuk also acts as a shield against sin, strengthens moral character and protects us from bad behavior by constantly reminding us of Allah. It brings peace to the heart and mind, helping us face life’s challenges with patience and trust. It enhances sincerity and humility, ensuring that the prayer is truly for Allah alone. A heart filled with khusyuk also encourages positive behavior outside of prayer. This is supported by the Quranic verse : “Successful indeed are the believers – those who humble themselves in prayer.” (Surah Al-Mu’minun, 23:1–2)
