Architecture: Mayan architecture was extremely advanced for the time. It consisted of massive pyramids and grand monuments to the gods.
Art/Music: The Mayans had a symbolic writing system which resemboled works of art. The most prevalent works of art where stone carvings and sculptures.Playe music much like we do today with instruments like trumpets and drums.
Cultural diffusion: The Mayan culture was heavily influenced by the Mesopotamians because of there strong trade relations between the two.
Role of Women: The role of women in the mayan civilization was very important with women filling major roles in government and in the economy.

Byzantines -ruled by Justinian and Theodora had basically roman law with more christian influence. Romans - ruled by Charlemagne had no written law but had an established court system.
Role of Religion in Gov. : Franks -  were pagans which did little to affect the government. Byzantines- theocracy of eastern orthodox Christianity ruled by king/ church figure. Romans - not involved with government but caused many conflicts.
Feudalism: Franks -  one of the founders of feudalism land would be exchanged for loyalty. Byzantines- Gave land to those in the military. Romans- also gave land for loyalty and services to the king.
Civil Service Exams: Franks- had no civil service exam. Byzantine- had a civil service exam to be a state governor. Romans - no civil service exams.

Byzantine- Eastern Orthodox Christianity. Romans - Torn between protestant and Roman Catholic.
Architecture: Franks- Very similar to Roman and French architecture. Byzantine- The Hagia Sophia large domed roughs extravagant. Romans- Victorian style  reflected in modern German architecture.
Art/Music: Franks- Most art in the form of architecture and jewelry. Church music was very popular during that time. Byzantine- All religious in line with the ideas of the church. Romans- Mostly architecture church music mostly.
Cultural diffusion: All of these civilizations are extremely similar due to there geographic location. The effects of diffusion between them is clearly seen in everything they do.
Role of Women: Franks-Just as a caregiver had little to no rights. Byzantine- Women had more rights but still were seen as homemakers.
