1784 - The Treaty of Fort Stanwix

The Treaty of Fort Stanwix was finalized on October 22, 1784, between the Native Americans and the United States from the six nations of the Iroquois League. It was the first of several treaties between the Native Americans and the United States after the American victory in the Revolution. The treaty also acted to secure native land farther out west that was owned by the Iroquois during the Beaver Wars.

1789 - The Treaty of Fort Harmar

The treaty of Fort Harmar was finalized on January 9, 1789. This treaty was made between the Haudenosaunee, Ojibwe, Odawa, Potawatomi, Sauk, Wyandot, and Lenape, all Indigenous nations with territorial claims.

1778 - The Treaty of Delaware

The Treaty of Delaware is also known as the Treaty with Pitt. It was signed on September 17, 1778, and was the first formal treaty between the new United States of America and any American Indian. Many Native Americans are facing environmental related problems such as water pollution, air pollution, and mining. Land has been illegally used by the government to profit the United States. June 14, 2024 - Colorado was built on stolen tribal land article

While Boulder Colorado is already built, it was built on stolen Native American land. There is no way of giving the land back completely to the Natives but instead there can be ways of referencing fees and taxes back; 0.1% fee on real estate transactions that happen on the land. 1814- The Treaty of Fort Jackson and The Treaty of Fort Wayne

The treaty of Fort Jackson which was signed August 9, 1814, and the treaty of Ghent which was signed on December 24, 1814. The Treaty of Fort Wayne impacted the Creek nation. The Treaty of Fort Wayne impacted the lack of recognition of native Americans and their positions, and interests.

1835- Treaty of New Echota

Treaty of New Echota was signed on December 29, 1835, in New Echota, Georgia. This treaty traded all 7 million acres of Cherokee land for $5 million and land in Indian Territory. The majority of the Cherokee opposed the treaty, so the government sent 7,000 US soldiers to remove them from the land. Due to this, an estimated 10 - 25% of them would die on the trek to Oklahoma known as the Trail of Tears.

1868- The Fort Laramie Treaty

The Fort Laramie Treaty was signed by William T. Sherman and the Sioux in Laramie, Wyoming. This treaty recognized the Black Hills of Dakota as the Great Sioux Reservation, but after gold was discovered in the Black Hills, that treaty was quickly broken.

1924 - John Collier and the Indian New Deal
