         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Broadcasters' Audience Research Board (<strong>BARB</strong>) is the organisation that compiles audience measurement and television ratings in the United Kingdom.<br><br>BARB is jointly owned by the BBC, ITV, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Channel_4">Channel 4</a>, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Channel_5_(UK)">Channel 5</a>, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sky_(United_Kingdom)">Sky</a> and the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Institute_of_Practitioners_in_Advertising">Institute of Practitioners in Advertising</a>. Participating viewers have a box on top of their <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TV_set">TV sets</a> which tracks the programmes they watch.<br><br>How do they calculate television viewing figures?</div><div>TV ratings are compiled daily by the Broadcasters' <strong>Audience</strong> Research Board. BARB recruits 12,000 people across 5,100 households representative of the overall UK <strong>viewing</strong> public. As well as demography and geography the panel is selected according to platform, whether the TV set or via desktop, laptop or tablet.<br><br><br><strong>little box which monerters ( selects people)<br>remote. when someone comes in they press a button.<br>1 person represents 4,000 people <br><br></strong><br>tells us the most expensive time slots <br><br>4+ <br>270 channels </div>]]></description>
