20Time

So, going forward this year, the school has decided to try a new program that allows our students to really further education in new and exciting ways that make them feel in control! It's called 20Time and the link for it is above. The main concept is that this program will help fuel the students' drive for education by making them pursue something that interests them. They'll become intrinsically motivated to research and explore fields of knowledge that intrigue them. Some amazing benefits are that it is student-driven learning, the goals are set by the student, they will gain presentation experience as they are to display their projects to the public, and practical researching skills. Now, this program might look different depending on the classroom. In my classroom, this may take the form of researching projects that can change society that involves physics in a practical sense or even trying to improve upon old structures or inventions in society to better improve their functionality. It will probably be once a week during one whole class period over the course of the semester that this will take place. I know this was a long post, but I do believe that this new program will be very beneficial down the long run. If you have any questions regarding what it is or how this will impact the grading system, please feel free email me at plefere24@adrian.edu. Very excited to implement this!!!!
