We approach uncertainty with forethought and determination: we work independently and cooperatively to explore new ideas and innovative strategies. We are resourceful and resilient in the face of challenges and change.

This attribute for learners resonates because it is the mindset where students become the owners of their academic journey. This mindset permits them to over-come fear.

The teachers and educators need encouragement to ensure this mindset is developed. One major way to help develop the risk-taker attribute in teachers is encouragement and expressing how their ideas and contributions align with the school's vision.

Open-minded

We discussed the importance of being open-minded as both of us (and the school) is relatively new to IB PYP.

Teachers tend to want to "get it right" (as teachers do); while they are willing to try something new, they may face challenges and come to us with their feedback. As leaders, it's important to be empathetic and work together with them to provide them with the support they need to succeed, while driving the school towards a shared vision.
