I watched a recording of a KTLC Online 2020 panel "Twój CAT umie więcej niż myślisz" with a view of getting to know hidden functionalities of CAT Tools.
I found out how to:
- enable displaying options in MemoQ;
- embed an .xml file to SDL Trados Studio;
- add Cascading Filters (HTML filters) to MemoQ;
- distinguish between polysemous words in translation memories in MemoQ;
- use Term Morphology Editor available for MemoQ.

To give a try to SDL Trados Studio, I uploaded a Power of Attorney document and translated it manually from Polish to English. I also created an empty translation memory, and a termbase containing several terms.
This task made me think of SDL Trados Studio as one of the most fast-to-use payable CAT tools.
I'm looking forward to practicing SDL Trados Multiterm.

The conference, organized by PT TEPIS, was a discussion on a fusion of translation with AI. Selected topics discussed at the conference:
- the emerging Artificial General Intelligence in translation;
- prompt engineering (and how it works);
- LLM (Large Language Models) to replace NMT (Neural Machine Trranslation);
- Chat GPT and Trados Studio integration (completing fuzzy matches etc.)

I participated in a webinar on Juremy, an ergonomic research tool that provides UE legal terminology.

The screenshot above presents a browser view of this tool, namely a corpus of palarell texts that are about to get aligned.

The texts are displayed in reference to a particular querie, 'information society service' in this case.

The second screenshot, in turn, shows a Juremy extension to SDL Trados Studio. This is currently the only CAT Tool to which this extention applies, although the meeting host expressed a possibility of providing it with MemoQ whenever a need arises.
The current monthly price of both the browser/app research tool and the extension is about 80 EUR a month.

While watching this recording, I found out about the use of AI in CAT Tools. I learnt that nowadays, the use of AI in translation is inevitable and widespread.

During the conference, I found out about Agile Methodology in translation, got to know crowdin and Jira Software as tools for teams of freelance translators.

I also watched a comparison of CAT Tools for teams (MemoQ, Phrase and Trados Studio).
