He was talking about the terrible events that were happened in the century and its consequences. Moreover, he talked that some Jewish people even after they became free they felt anger at what they saw. Also he was talking about indifference of people to wars and some horrible incidents that happened. It shows like dark and sad tone because he was talking about some problems of the society.

Those sentences make me got a strong reaction because those sentences led me to think how bad the conditions in the camp during the Holocaust had to be for him to say that he would never feel any joy never again. It was something really sad and despairing that people had to went through. I can't even imagine how much pain people had there. It was an atrocity. In those sentences the tone of the writer is hopeless.

-Ingrid Parra

He say this makes me think about when other people was suffering the war, should we keep the same feeling with them, or we should keep indifference? This also makes me think about when we suffering the same situation. His diction is very serious, and easy to make people think about the situation as themselves. His tone was straight and easy to get the meaning for reader to understanding the indifference is not good for the world.

The paragraph 6 provoked me grief of remembering death people due to Holocaust that Elie Wiesel experimented. According to the paragraph 6, it states "Of course, indifference can be tempting, more than, seductive. It is so much easier to look away from victims. It is so much easier to avoid such rude interruptions to our work, our dreams, our hopes". Diction appears here to claim instability in the world using the word "indifference" referring to poor people, finding a way to change their lives. The mood here is very tense due to the impact of living in a desired world. Acerbic is used due to the writer feeling in this quotation, determinizing obstacles on people hopes.

This means that he is tankful for the bad treatment he received even though they didn't treat him so well, he did not hold a grudge against them because they had compassion on him.
