         <description><![CDATA[<div>Hi everyone! My name is Briana Babot and I am a freshman here at Miami Dade College. I attend all my classes through MDC Live, but my home campus is the Kendall campus. I am a 21 year-old, Cuban-Argentinian who shares an immense love for baseball, photography, and film. Those three things lead me to becoming the baseball team photographer here at MDC. I love what I do and it has now encouraged me to change my major to Film Production (Mass Communications). I am a full-time student, I work a full-time job, and the rest of my time is spent on the field 6 days out of the week. Spring season has just begun so I will be traveling with them to all their games and I'm very excited. In the beginning of fall, my major was Business for Sports Management, but as I continued to film the team and edit their videos I realized what I truly had a passion for and now I will begin to pursue it. I grew up here in Miami, specifically Kendall, and graduated from Miami Sunset Senior High. I took me 3 years to figure out what I wanted to do with my life which is why I'm starting college at 21 years-old. Right after highschool I started working and haven't stopped. In the future I would love to live somewhere up north to experience all seasons, possibly New York or Boston. I'm always changing my mind so I have no idea what the future holds, but as long as I'm successful and happy with what I do then that'll be more than enough for me. &nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>C.E.R is a framework that can be used for scientific explanations. It makes a claim, provides evidence that backs that claim, and provides the reason that the supports the claim. Developing a conclusion to a science investigation, engaging in scientific argumentation, evaluating online science communication, and examing a science articles are just a few ways that CER is used. CER allows you to think about your data in an organized, thorough manner. CER stands for claim, evidence, and reasoning. Claim is a statement that answers the question. Evidence is scientific data that is appropriate and sufficient to support the claim. Reasoning is the thinking behind the evidence that led to the claim. It should explain the evidence if necessary, and then connect it to the claim. Science classes use CER frequently, but it works well in any content area. Students should use the CER Graphic Organizer resource as they continue to develop their writing skills and analyze their lab results.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Pacific angel shark is one of 23 angel sharks, noted for their flattened appearance that makes them resemble skates or rays. These flat sharks have broad pectoral fins and relatively large mouths, which they use to create intense negative pressure (suction) when feeding. Though they resemble rays, angel sharks (and other flat sharks) can be easily distinguished from rays by examination of the pectoral fins. In skates and rays, the pectoral fins are always attached to the head.          <description><![CDATA[<div>I chose to watch write about the video "When Is A Pandemic Over?". In the video, it is explained that when a pandemic hits global groverments must choose what to do next based on three options. Those being race through it, delay and vaccinate, or coordinate and crush. At first, governments and communities do nothing about the spread and allow people to get infected so that they may study it more. That's exactly what happened when COVID 19 hit. The main thing that caught my attention which I didn't know which was the three options that are taken when a pandemic hits. Unless a virus is completely eradicated, which is higly unlikely, there will be risks of it escalating to pandemic levels once again. Honestly, that also caught my attention because I don't fully agree with that statement. Yes, these are scientist speaking on this and are much more educated on it than I am, but I see it differently. &nbsp;We've been in this pandemic for about 3 years or so and since most of the population has already been infected atleast once our immune systems have become stronger and I'm sure you know this based off how many have been affected more than once and it just feels like a common cold now.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>&nbsp;Angel sharks are found in tropical and warm temperate oceans on the continental shelves worldwide, where they consume fish and bottom-dwelling invertebrates. They are also commonly are found in coastal and outer continental shelf sediment habitats in the Mediterranean Sea and eastern Atlantic. They may also be found in estuaries and brackish water. These sharks are nocturnal bottom dwellers occurring in depths of 16 to 492 feet and prefer to spend most of their time buried in the sand or mud during the day. They are usually partially buried on flat, sandy bottoms and sand channels between rocky reefs when resting. When it is buried, it lies there in ambush, waiting for small fishes to swim within gulping distance. When an unsuspecting fish comes near, the shark lunges upward, sucks the fish into its huge mouth and swallows it whole.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Feedback is key element that is used in the natural world. It is a phenomenon called mutual casual interaction where x affects y, y affects x, and so on, creating an ongoing process called a feedback loop. One thing that caught my attention was the effects of negative feedback in an ecosystem. The ongoing cycle creates an up and down wavelike pattern, maintaining a long-term equilibrium and allowing a food chain to persist over time.<br>&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>My species is the Pacific Angel Shark. The reason I chose this species was because I love the ocean. I'm actually terrfied of sharks, but this one in particular caught my eye because it looks more like a stingray than a shark. Since Pacific Angel Shark appear most abundant in the warm-temperate waters of southern California and Baja Mexico, and depend on prey found near rocky reefs, long-term warming trends in ocean temperatures could force the population to move farther north through central and northern California. Climate driven fluctuations in ocean temperature may affect the distribution of Pacific Angel Shark in California. To manage Pacific Angel Shark populations effectively under climate change, it will be important to take a proactive approach to management. This may entail increased or targeted monitoring of populations and/or placing a higher priority on collecting data to fill in information gaps on the demography and biology of this species.<br><br></div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The padlet I chose was made by Gabriella Gonzalez. Her padlet backround is pink which is one of my favorite colors so that definitely caught my attention besides the fact that it is also so well organized. Gabriella is a Communications Major at the Kendall Campus and has worked on remarkable projects. Those projects including a documentary about Gloria and Emilio Estefan, and a music video for local Miami artists which one a student Emmy in 2021! That's incredible! The species she chose to write about was the Monarch Butterfly. This also caught my attention because I am obsessed with butterflies, so much so that I have a few tattooes of them. Gabriella did an amazing job at bringing awareness to the endangered species. Before seeing her padlet I wasn't aware that the Monarch Butterfly was endangered. Now that I have learned about them, they are endangered due to the decline of the milkweed plants. Overall her padlet is an excellent creation!</div>]]></description>
