Filming began on July 9, 2004, and the finished film was released in the United States on September 3, 2005.

One day, there was a young woman who leaves her son to live with his grandmother but, she promises to return back soon. Casanova, he is a handsome man and a Venice's famous lover. The Doge, ruler of the city always warns Casanova to get married as soon as possible or he will be exiled from Venice. Casanova is in love with Francesca, even though he is engaged to Victoria, who is the love of Giovanni, Francesca's brother. Francesca is the one who writes illegal feminist book but she didn't use her own name but under the name of a man, Bernardo Guardi. Francesca’s mother really wants Francesca to get married with a rich man name Paprizzio from Genoa, and Casanova doesn’t accept it so he plan something to get the love of Francesca.

When Paprizzio arrives in Venice to meet Francesca, Casanova lies to him and persuades him to stay at his house and he also lies again that pretend as Bernardo Guardi. When Paprizzio preparing to meet Francesca, Casanova in a hurry to meet Francesca first and he lies to Paprizzio to do some treatment so he can looks more handsome and more slim. When Casanova arrives at Francesca’s home, her mother welcome him and tells Francesca that he is her fiance and make Francesca shock. Casanova spellbound with the beauty of Francesca. 

The next day, Venice held a Carnival and Casanova, Francesca, Paprizzio and Francesca’s mother and the others come to the Carnival. Francesca’s mother suddenly spellbound with one man and the man also feel the same. The man invites Francesca’s mother to dance, when they are dancing she asks his name and the man says that his name is Paprizzio that make Francesca’s mother surprise. In the same time, Casanova invite Francesca to go with air balloon and Casanova tells her his real identity that make Francesca angry and disappointed and suddenly Francesca turn off the fire and the air balloon explode. 
Everyone at the Carnival wait for Casanova because all of them already know who Casanova is. 

The following day, they must come to the court because they proven wrong. He saves Francesca by pretending to be Bernardo Guardi, which impresses her very much. At his trial, Francesca reveals that it is in fact she who is Bernardo Guardi, and both are sentenced to death. But, they all are saved by the announcement that day is Pope’s birthday so they are saved. They all escape and they succeed.
