Everyday meals often consist of beans, vegetables or meat stew served with ugali (a stiff porridge made with maize meal)or matoke (banana/plantain).Chapatti(flatbread), rice and potatoes are also common accompaniments. The widely drunk hot drink is tea (chaior icyayi) which is brewed sweet and milky. Rwanda’s famous Maraba coffee is grown for export and most local coffee is served instant. Locally brewed beer and banana wine are enjoyed as alcoholic drinks. http://www.our-africa.org/rwanda/food-daily-life

Over two-thirds of Rwandans are Christian, mainly Catholic, though smaller evangelical churches are becoming more popular.

However many Rwandans still hold to traditional beliefs. These centre around a supreme being called the Imana. People often hold informal ceremonies asking for the Imana’s blessing.

The Imana is believed to help in the creation of children inside the mother’s womb by shaping the clay which forms us. Women sometimes leave a few drops of water in a jar at night so that the potter has some water with which to work the clay
http://www.our-africa.org/rwanda/people-culture

Music and dance plays an important role in the traditions of all Rwanda's peoples .The Rwandan people have a variety of music and dance which range from acts that demonstrate epics commemorating excellence and bravery, humorous lyrics to hunting root. Traditional songs are often accompanied by a solitary lulunga, a harp-like instrument with eight strings. More celebratory dances are backed by a drum orchestra, which typically comprises seven to nine members, and collectively produce a hypnotic and exciting explosion set of intertwining rhythms.

Football (soccer)is the most popular sport throughout Africa.Africa has its own Olympic Games. The All Africa Games (originally known as the Friendship Games and then the Pan-African Games) were first held in Madagascar in 1960, organised by French-speaking countries. Over the following years, other African nations joined. Official recognition by the International Olympic Committee came in 1965, when the Games were held in Brazzaville, Congo. Like the Olympics, the All Africa Games is now staged every four years, each time hosted by a different country.
