The person who is not part of the experiment is quite nervous.
In the end, she goes with the crowd and does something inhumane because others are too.
Everybody not part of the experiment did what the crowd did, even if it was weird.

When others around you are doing something you tend to follow because you think that you are wrong and others are right. They do this because they start to doubt themselves and follow the majority.

Nadia keeps turning around her surroundings, looking nervous and the other people were also turning around at each round and everybody else were looking in the same direction. This is an example of herd behavior.

-Nadia did not seem to question but she instead just followed along with the rest of the people

-They all followed the same rule and the were very confused to why they were looking at the back of the elavator which they probably followed along because they did not want to seem different or unusual to the others in the elavator.

Maybe because everybody was doing something very wrong, naturally one wouldn't want to stand out in the Giver, so they just did what everybody else did.

The people not part of the experiment were anxious, confused, and feeling out of place. They were under pressure from the group and therefore copied the rest. The three women didn't question anything and turned the other way on the elevator as if they were missing something.

This shows that people want to "blend in" with the crowd and that they don't want to stand out. In The Giver, the people in the community all follow the rules and in result, everyone else follows, even if they think something is wrong.

This connects to the Giver because in both scenarios the people are influenced by others around them. In Jonas's society, everyone blindly follows the rules because it is what they are told to do and everyone else is also obeying. Instead of questioning their government, most people just choose to go along.

I think that this connects to the Giver because people in the Giver follow the rules and they are scared to voice their opinion on how they think things should be run because the have a fear of being different which makes them less likely to object against the governments laws, just like in the video, the three women did not want to ask why the people think and act the way they do and instead they just followed along with the crowd.
