Saddam Hussein didn't want the Kurd's to live a good life. He ruined so many Kurdish villages and along with that, the people who had lived in those houses in the late 1900's, or more specifically 1986-1989. This occurred in the Iraq area. This genocide is not going on any more because Saddam Hussein is dead now.

The impact of technology used by Saddam on the Kurd's were that there were many deaths.

An article from Encyclopedia of Britannica proclaims, "There are four basic types of chemical weapons: choking agents, blistering agents, blood agents, and nerve agents....All these agents can be delivered by artillery shells, missiles, bombs, sprays, or other dispensers....Iraq also used chemical weapons against Kurdish civilians." Saddam Hussein's regime used technology in the form of chemical weapons to hurt so many Kurdish people, which is a very deadly tactic. Noah Berlatsky affirms in a book, "..then-US senator Al Gore contends that Saddam Hussein, the leader of Iraq, is perpetrating genocide against the Kurd's. He says that Iraq's genocidal policies include the use of chemical weapons-that is, poisonous gas." The U.S. affirmed that Saddam was using chemical weapons to his advantage, even though the United Nations had made a cease-fire agreement that prohibited biological, nuclear, and chemical weapons, which shows the impact of technology in the hands of Saddam Hussein. Jane Springer publishes in her book, "Massacres, executions (100,000 men and boys machine-gunned to death) chemical weapons (mustard gas and GB or Sarin) in Halabja, burning of villages, forced displacement from homes, starvation, disease." There were many deaths tied to technology, through the use of guns, fire, and chemical weapons.

Saddam Hussein's upbringing impacted his adult self and choices.

The article by Encyclopedia of World Biography states, "His father, Hussein 'Abd al-Majid, was a peasant sheepherder who by various accounts either died or disappeared before his son's birth. His older brother, who was twelve, died of cancer shortly thereafter. The combined tragedies had a devastating effect on Saddam's mother, Subha Tulfah al-Mussallat, who became extremely depressed during her last months of pregnancy. After her new son was born, she named him Saddam, which means "one who confronts" or "the stubborn one." Because of her depression, however, she was unable to care for him, and young Saddam was sent to live in Baghdad with his uncle, Khairallah Talfah, a retired army officer and Arab nationalist." Saddam had a very rough life growing up, with so many family losses that contributed to his mother's depression, which led to Saddam being brought to his harsh uncle that influenced his adult murderous side. The article from RadioFreeEurope says, "There he took his first steps into political life, joining the Ba'ath Party in 1957 at age 20. This was a time of revolutionary fervor generated by the populist pan-Arabist president of Egypt, Gamal Abdel Nasser, and Hussein was deeply affected by it. Hussein was involved in his first bloody political act in 1959, taking part in a failed bid to overthrow Iraqi Prime Minister Abd al-Karim Qassim, who himself had ousted Iraqi King Faisal II just one year earlier." Saddam, at a young age, with no other exposure to more positive influences, decided to become a cruel and hated person. An article by Jack Anderson, and Dale Van Datta declares, "'Saddam's psyche was shaped by his rejection by his natural father and mother. But the report admits that he is a trigger man who is very ruthless, willing to kill anyone and only likely to disappear from the scene if he is killed.'" This shows that Saddam had grown up with not enough love in his life. I believe that if he had grown up in a loving home that he would not nearly have caused as many deaths and thought more about his actions.
