Points of engagement

The advert for a role creates engagement

The interview is the first real person to person engagement so make it count

Pre-employment information and brand sharing to create excitement

First day at work – huge day of engagement

End of week one – always a good time to check in and offer more support and create further engagement

Quarterly when managers perform reviews

Annual review time

Training opportunities

When an employee resigns

The first event I would choose is to welcome the new employee before they start by engaging with them on what to expect and easing them into their expectations for their first day. When this has been done for me, I have always felt valued, inspired and excited to start my first day. This can be measured with a request for feedback on their first day as to whether they were given enough information prior to starting. https://snacknation.com/blog/employee-welcome-kit/

The second important one that is important and often not done, is when someone resigns. I believe first an informal conversation should be had with the employee to see if they can be retained. If not, then it is key to undertake an exit interview to understand the employee’s reasons for leaving, gather information on their experience with the company and ensure any issues raised are addressed to stop others leaving for the same reason. Why Are Exit Interviews Important? | Engagedly
