         <description><![CDATA[<div>Cutting lessons we are using angles for cutting, they are drawing out a head shape and then drawing on the haircut angles and explaining what affect it has on the overal style.<br>Using timings to familiarise learners with industry skills, for those learners who can't read the time from an analogue clock we work on other strategies IE using timers , to help them get used to looking at an analogue clock we relate it to a pizza and where you would make the cuts if you had X amount of friends round to share it with.&nbsp;<br>Measurements and conversion from cm to inches, clients will often talk about the amount they want cut off in inches, we use a visual mark on the comb as to where an inch is, covert to cm.<br><br>Mixing colour, ratio and percentages. Fractions, IE. Half a tube of this colour with a quarter of another and a quarter of a base shade.<br><br>Booking appointments in multiples of 15 mins, how long does each service take? How many booking lines do I need to block out? How many clients can I fit in a specific time slot?<br><br>English , communication skills with clients in a realistic working environment, confidence building by talking to different types of people, reading manufacturers instructions.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Engineering<br>Most lessons are maths based.<br><br>Encourage students to proof read each other's project reports.<br>Learners give feedback on project presentations to other learning.<br>Two BTEC units are maths for technicians/further maths.<br>L2 nVQ has a maths unit.<br>CAD worth relies greatly on scaled input.<br>Electronics - using digital Multimeters and oscilloscopes for measurement and testing.&nbsp; Learners have to read values and analyse data.<br>Calculations e.g. Ohms law and power calculations.<br><br>communications unit requires use of drawings, written and verbal communication.<br>Report writing for most BTEC units include English feedback e.g. Sentence structure, use of Harvard referencing, spelling, formatting of reports.<br>Using machinery in workshop uses feeds and speeds tables and calculations.<br>Use of micrometers and vernier.<br>CNC requires conversion between polar and Cartesian coordinates.<br>Graph plotting and stats in Materials unit.<br>Use of mechanical testing for data measurements and lab report writing.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>
