Born into a catholic family

Growing up I was raised in a catholic church. I can remember as a child always looking forward to church because I knew that afterward we would go out to a restaurant and have a family lunch. As I got older my mother had us join the church choir. It was there that I discovered my love for singing. I was always shy singing in front of others but for some reason when I sang to God that timidness went away.

Of course, I would not be the person I am today without these two amazing individuals. My parents helped shape my spiritual journey. They have taught me the values of what a good marriage looks like. They have shown me how after 38 they are still stronger than ever. They modeled what it looks like to have love and respect for one another in their marriage. They also showed me the importance of working hard. They came to this country with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Today my parents are the proud owners of four income properties, showing us that the only thing that can stop you from succeeding is yourself.

Siblings for Life

My brother and my sister have been a great spiritual influence in my life. We have always held a close bond and love each other's children as if they were our own. I know that if at any time I need someone they will both drop what they are doing and help me out. They are the most humble individuals I know to this day.

Questioning my Faith

There is nothing more difficult in this world than seeing your children suffer. One of the moments that made me question my faith was watching both of my children in the hospital. They were both born prematurely. My daughter was born at 2 lbs 8 oz and was 13 inches long. She spent 4 weeks in the NICU. My son was born 3lb 14 oz and was 18 inches long. Seeing your children so small and vulnerable makes you feel so helpless. Thankfully my babies are thriving and happy now.

Fighting for life

This is my nephew Ricardo. January 2024 he was stabbed in the heart. He was not expected to recover. Fortunately, through God's will he made a miraculous recovery. His journey is not yet over and he still has a long recovery ahead of him. He, however, shined new faith in my life. He is the true definition of a miracle.

When I told my parents I wanted to get married they had the same reaction any parents of a 19-year-old would have. They questioned my decision and made sure I knew what I was getting myself into. 13 years later here I am with my loving supportive husband. He has helped me reach my goals and has never let me down. He has shown me patience, unconditional love, and perserverance.
