Yes I think that this book should be taught in schools. The reason being it talks about relationships and it shows us that everyone should be treated the same.

I enjoyed the book “The Outsiders” because it ended nicely with all the brothers being friends and behaving like an actual family. I also didn’t like this book because there was a lot of fighting. The book describes a life that I wouldn’t want to live. For example the Greasers were always in a fight between another neighbourhoods. The Greasers also always carried a switchblade or a knife. I think this book should still be taught in schools because it ends happily and has a nice message don’t judge people just by their looks “don’t judge a boy by the amount of grease they have in their hair”.

I also liked how it was people closser to our age so you could reale to to a bit more. I do think this book should still be taught in schools because I think that the students will really enjoy reading it and will be able to relate to it even though they are not in gangs or have lives like the boys in the book people could still relate to in on different levels.

I liked the book, I thought the concept was good and the characters were relatable but it was a bit boring at some parts. I thought it would be better if it was more dramatic; because there was a lot of characters to build on to make more dramatic scenarios. But I still liked parts of the book like the ending and the deaths because they were exciting. Although it isn’t the best book,I think we should read it because it has good points and good lessons to learn, and it’s unlike any other books and I think it’s good to have read it.

The beginning was a bit slow but once it picked up it surprised me and is now my favourite book. In my opinion The Outsiders is an amazing book because you become really invested and it’s hard to stop reading, it also made me feel different emotions, like when Johnny died I was sad, when Dallas died I was shocked and when the Socs were drowning Ponyboy I was mad. The book should one hundred percent should still be taught at Corpus, because I learnt a lot from it and am now educated on that period of time. Overall I really liked The Outsiders and will definitely be reading again.

Yes I did enjoy the book because of how many problems and incidents that had happened it was fun to read and I didn’t want to stop. They should definitely teach kids to read this book because it’s explaining about how life was back in the 1900’s it was hard and people had to live in gangs to survive and how easy it is to die. It’s important to read this because life was more dangerous back then then today society, teaching this book will teach kids to know how easy it is to be not wanted by their parents.

I did enjoy parts of this book. I really liked the ending and how it matched with the beginning of the book, making Pony sound like the author of the book. I also liked the characters in the book because each one was relatable in some way and also as they were so different it made it more exciting and interesting to read. I didn’t like this book because at times it could be quiet boring, especially when it was just PonyBoy and Johnny as they are not very interesting characters. Also it could’ve been more sad and dramatic as many people died, got hurt or didn't have very good home spaces. All though the thought of Johnny and Dally dying made me sad, the words describing it didn't.

I do think that this is a good book to read for children as it is very relatable as there are gangs like at school. This book teaches as many lessons like that people who may be misunderstood do have a life, feelings and family that people don’t often think about when they first see them. It is also interesting to read as it has humour, drama, sadness and violence all in one. It is a book that anyone can enjoy depending on their difference taste. This is also good for school because it is very age appropriate for teens of the ages 12 - 14.

It was really good because the characters were so close with each other and they were always playful and sometimes joyful. I loved the jokes and playful things they did on each other because they made me want to read more and more into the book, waiting for more jokes to play on each other. I think it should be taught in schools still because it teaches people about brother hood and the value of friendship and the realisation of the value of people when you lose them.

The Outsiders book to me was my favourite book to read, I really did enjoy the storyline and how well the author could create such a unique book as only just a teen. To me when I know a book is good is when you really can imagine what’s going on in each scene and act like a fly on a wall being apart of the book and I feel like while reading this I definitely felt that. Although this book is so far fetched I feel as though teens of today can really relate to a book like this, and I definitely feel as it got to the end the parts which explained how life was worth it and there is always a glimpse of hope was the most relevant thing to say in this book when referring to teens because as much as they may not like where they are at in life the quotes in this book I believe tells to keep pushing through because we can always be better people and make something with our lives and that is very motivating for example, “stay gold, stay gold”. I definitely think that this book should still be taught at our school and in others because I feel that people can feel related to this book while not having to go through it for example the trauma of deaths, the difficulties of where they are in life and having to live as being not wanted. Overall I loved this book and would definitely read it again

It was a really good story and there were lots of interesting and exciting things that happened. I really liked the ending of the book how it ended with the first sentence and this book was his assignment for english. There were lots of shocking but surprising events that happened including the boys in the greaser gang dying and the church that caught on fire. It also gives a lot of detail which helps me imagine the book even though I wasn’t there. It also gives a good message of there always being good in everything.

Do you think this book should still be taught in schools?

I enjoyed The Outsiders because it talked about interesting topics and was really well written. I find it different from other books because it was from the point of view of a greaser telling a very unique story. Each of the boys in the greaser gang had very different lives, and it is extraordinary that they all became friends just because they were greasers. The Outsiders is a very suspenseful book that kept me hooked when I first read it.
I think this book should be taught in schools because it has a very powerful message. The message is, like Johnny and Randy pointed out in the book, that violence is pointless and can lead to unneeded death and injury. It is important for students to learn this, as it can help them later in life. It also can help others understand how other people live and that not everyone is as privileged as us.

I also like how it is suspenseful all the way through and the emotions displayed in it. I think this book should be taught in schools, it is important because it teaches us about the issues and that we can help people keep their innocence before it’s too late for them and they can continue doing the things that they used to do. It also teaches us that nobody has no problems and that we should always be looking out for others problems and helping them with them even if we don’t know wether they have any.

1. I enjoyed The Outsiders as it put into perspective the lives and troubles of people who are living/lived completely different lives to that that my family, friends and I are living. The narrative also showed the reader that there is good in everything, and that even if you are not living the life that you want to be living, you and only you have the power to change and take charge of your life.

2. I believe this book still should be taught in schools, regardless of the age of the narrative, as it still teaches basic human values, of family and friendship, especially in the later stages of the book. During reading, it is hard to believe that this book is as old as it is, and it’s storyline is still completely relevant in the 21st century. The only thing that argues against this is the fact that it was hard in some stages to find very hard to compare to modern-day life.

The story was really adventurous and really made you think you were there. The story really was a unique story between the socs and the greasers.

We could learn that you dont judge someone based on their wealth or where they live everyone is equal, Iknow this because the socs and the greasers treat everyone in their gang as family.

I like the Outsider novel but also don’t like some part because the outsiders have a good cast of character with their own personalities and motive. The story tell a compelling story about how the cast of character deal with the problem of being the greaser and the fight against the Socs. Character also have good amount of character development throughout the story like how Jonny goes from being the kid who is scare to being a hero who sacrificed his life to protect the children. The part I don’t like about the Outsider is the Church part, I found the part kind of boring and see the same style of ‘run away to some place’ part a lot. Despite I don’t like this part, the book in general is a good book
