Also use examples from the living environment when starting the lesson. This example can be used throughout the whole lesson to refer to so that the students can translate the theory to something more comprehensive from their world. 

To encourage autonomy in the students the teacher can organize contract work where the students can choose on what part of the material they want to work and how much time they want to spend on different parts like theory and exercise. 

Students are put in groups of 4 or 5 to share their own plans to the other members.

Within each group, members are asked to vote for one they think has the best plan and can be the representative of the group.

Spending strategy - stage 3: 

Each representative then presents their plan in front of the class, persuading everyone that they have the best plan.

In a science lesson about the water cycle, the teacher provides different ways for students to learn. 

For those who like to listen, there is a narrated explanation. 

Visual learners can use diagrams, videos, and written explanations. 

Students who have difficulty with language barrier, teachers also adds a glossary with symbols and translations

We could offer them guidelines to do each of these, or even offer them support tools such as templates or video explanations.

Providing problem-solving strategies, such as using flowcharts or separating problems in smaller and more manageable steps.

 If we are going to teach about nature, we can vary their ways of presentation ranging from giving a speech, using videos and pictures, going outside and having physical contact with nature or asking students in advance to bring something about nature

Example: Let the student give a presentation in their own unique way. 

Example: Students are learning multiplication and division up till 10. Let them try to get 20 right in 1 minute by the end of the year (3 year of elementary school goal)

Example: After a peer teaching, the other students give feedback on how they thought the lesson went.

Example: Reading exercise at home with a provided audio fragment of the text and some pictures to better illustrate the text.

Example: When making a family tree of the royal family, we have the relationship between them in text but also their photos connected to one another showing their relation.

Example: One student has to give a peer teaching, so he has to look up for information, make a presentation and prepare exercises and has to teach this to the other pupils. The other pupils in the meantime follow the peer teaching, making a summary (culture notes), filling in the exercises and can ask questions if needed.

Example: When teaching about the environment changing because of the different seasons, it may be interesting to take the students outside and let them observe everything (trees, leafs, ground, …)

Example: Having the students sit at round tables makes it easier for them to engage and discuss group work.

Example: For a math class, just seeing the numbers on paper/board may not be clear for every student. Providing visual aid like a graph can put it more in perspective for these students.

Example: Make study plan/guide on how u plan to study for the upcoming exams in january, having to keep in mind ur personal life and plans and changing it when needed. 

Use the KWL chart to use before, while and after the lesson to find out and meet the students’ needs during the class.

Example: make a "trip around the world" like a famous youtuber in Spain. From that work the content related to that (maths, history, geography...)

Later, reflect on their feelings

For example in arts you can tell them when their drawing should be done and set timereferences for when each step should be done: sketching (end of first lesson), coloring (2nd lesson), outlining (3rd).

The students use a journal to use different methods so they can evaluate their approach and see their own process during the year. As teacher you can see if they have understood the assignment.

This gives them control over how they best express their understanding. Each option taps into different strengths—verbal, visual, creative, or performative—so more students can succeed. This flexibility reduces anxiety and increases motivation by letting learners showcase their skills in a format that feels natural to them.

Small groups and pair-shares offer low-pressure, interpersonal interaction, while online chat boards and digital answer tools support students who need more processing time or prefer written expression.

Example: instead of explaining the orthographic rules in a traditional way, do it in an interactive way.
