The use of simple geometric forms, such as circles and sharp angles, encourages a minimalist aesthetic that feels modern and timeless. However, the overlapping elements also evoke a sense of complexity, suggesting that beneath the apparent simplicity of the composition lies a deeper, more intricate structure. This duality in Taeuber-Arp’s work speaks to her ability to create visual tension while maintaining an overall sense of balance.

This is a striking and somewhat eerie drawing created in 1886. It depicts a human skull, with exaggerated, sharp details and a cigarette casually placed between its teeth, emitting smoke. The composition combines van Gogh's characteristic bold lines and intense contrasts, lending a raw, almost unsettling energy to the piece. The image reflects themes of mortality and the passage of time, infused with a dark humor through the unusual addition of the cigarette, blending the macabre with a touch of irony.

The calm and sad expression mixed with the man's messy hair gives a sad impression of the boy, along with the more neutral colors.

Caravaggio’s Medusa (c. 1596) is an intense and vivid depiction of the mythological figure Medusa, shown in a state of transformation. The painting presents her severed head, with snakes writhing around her face, her eyes wide open in terror, and her mouth frozen in a scream. The image is framed within a circular shield, which enhances the grotesque and dramatic impact of the scene. The head is depicted with startling realism, capturing the fine details of her features, from her skin to the twisted expression of anguish. The use of chiaroscuro (light and shadow) adds depth to the painting, emphasizing both the beauty and horror of the moment. Caravaggio's naturalistic style, often marked by dramatic realism and emotional intensity, makes Medusa's tragic fate feel immediate and visceral. The painting was likely commissioned for the studio of Cardinal del Monte, a patron of Caravaggio, and may have carried symbolic implications related to the themes of violence, power, and danger.

The work reimagines Piranesi as a timeless figure, captured in exquisite detail with a marble-like texture that evokes both antiquity and modernity. Polanzani’s approach not only honors Piranesi’s legacy but also invites reflection on the enduring influence of art and architecture. The piece is a thoughtful and visually striking tribute to one of history’s great artistic minds.

The Caryatid statues are very beautiful sculptures. They were made to be used as support in place of a pillar, built between 421 and 406 BC, and are considered the most beautiful monument in Ionic style. In 1978, five of the original sculptures were removed from the Temple of Erechtheion and replaced with replicas. They are now exhibited in the Acropolis Museum. The sixth Caryatid is in the British Museum. There is a controversy about them, with two countries arguing over who is right and wrong. Greece claims that England stole the statue, while England argues that the sculptures are theirs by right, as they were bought in 1802 by Lord Elgin, who resold them to the museum.

The chosen colors are vibrant; however, the emotion that remains is one of extreme sadness. The painting is “The Scream”, and we can find that painting in the National museum of art, architecture and Design in Oslo , Norway.

That phrase on this watermelon has a lot of history because this painting was created 8 days before the author's death, and this information makes me wonder, 'What was she thinking while she painted them?'.

We can find it in the 'Museo Frida Kahlo.

What I feel about this painting is a mix of emotions, such as fear, shame, and hatred. According to Judeo-Christian tradition, Lucifer was one of God's favorite angels. However, his pride led him to rebel, causing him to fall—the first apostate. As a result, he lost his place in heaven and was condemned to live on earth. I would feel the same way if I were an angel, especially God's favorite. This painting can be found at the Museum Fabre in Montpellier, France, by Alexandre Cabanel.
