2. They can be rowdy, especially qian dao. Some are quite shy (Therefore some are not willing to do LY shang xia zi li, and some are scared that they will make mistakes) , but they are willing to learn new things. They cannot focus on the theory portion but always enjoy the activities, usually the hands-on one which helps them learn better. Some BY lacks respect towards JDY, for example when JDY (Those who aren't scary looking to the BYs) asks BY A to not do this, BY A will talk back.

3. Respect, some stuff that they can learn from lin qian ren is to 明白修道的重要性, ⁠尊师佛规礼节, 做好事说⁠好话, 感恩

• 破例 / Ambitious: 很大的远见在不同的国家开了12个大道场。

• 二等兵的精神：

  • 很谦虚/humble

  • He is willing to do all the “tasks” without hesitation and second thoughts.

• 大德林公前人承接施公前人的指责，来继续宝光建德的道业。

  
  

2. What are your observations of A Group BYs in your deshu/daochang in general

• Willing to LY (eg: Shao Xiang Zhi Li, Qing Shao)

• Needs longer time to understand game/activity rules (based on A camp DDZ experience, BYs don’t understand what they were supposed to do)

• No basic manners/respect towards JDY (thinks that everything revolves around them)

• Not appreciative/惜福 of what they have now in life (eg: 挑食). Try to let them know what is 苦, so they won’t take things for granted

• Very active, easily lose focus/rowdy/disengaged

• Sometimes they drift off easily if there are too many segments in an activity

• Brainstorm possible ways to manage their behaviours to ease the conducting of activities

2.What are your observations of A Groups BYs in your 德属/ 道场?

• Take things for granted

  • TZM use their money and time to wake up early to cook lunch for the whole BXB, but BYs who can’t finish will just throw them away without second thoughts

  • Do not acknowledge the efforts of JDY in teaching and grooming them.

• Imitate behaviours of JDYs

  • Learning by imitation

• Easily influenced by peers

  • Stick to other BYs who can clique with them, common behaviour patterns shown in the same group of BYs → Peer Influence

3.A组班员们欠缺了什么, 是值得向大德林前人学习的？

• Be sincere in actions, from your heart.

  • Story

    • 林源源点传师分享：在神威有贵宾时，最后一晚的晚餐，大家吃完饭都留下来和贵宾说再见。林点传师也是。但是他没看到前人，就在想为什么前人没有欢送贵宾。

    • 其实，前人先回去房间休息，因为他隔天早上5点起来，在一楼等贵宾，欢送贵宾到他的车，看着他离开

    • 点传师领悟了前人的用意。

  • Sending off the guest after the dinner is good and the most straightforward thing, but going back to sleep just to wake up early and be one of the few ones that send off said guest, is another level.

    • This is how you 以心印心，use your utmost sincerity from your heart to touch the hearts of others.

• Humility

  • 大德前人做什么从来都没有邀功，是永远的二等宾。

  • Our BYs can learn humility from DDQR, acknowledge that everything that they have is because of their parents, their siblings, their family members or even TZs, RCs, Daoqins and JDYs in FT.

  • Whatever they accomplish, it is okay for them to be proud of it, but they also need to keep in mind the efforts of others to get them where they are today.

• Respect for elders

  • Our BYs can learn 尊师重道，遵前提后 from DDQR.

  • These days kids do not really watch what they say, or think about the consequences of their speech or actions -> sometimes said actions can be utterly disrespectful to others, especially the gorgor and jiejies in BXB.

  • This is something that BYs can learn from DDQR, the value of respect.

what has he done for 道场

在家 - 好爷爷，爸爸和丈夫，孝顺父母，敬爱太太，可爱可亲的爷爷。

在社会 - 大善人，拥有慈悲的心肠，处在别人的角度做事，三施布道, 一个伟人，拥有远见，人缘善到, 谦虚谨慎。

在佛堂 - 拥有大家长的风范

对道亲，人才，堂主关怀爱护。对点传师的严厉身教，以身作则，道场的标杆。

For eg:

• his 12 wishes was more of a goal he wanted to set for all of us, also saying that he was directing us towards a path on where to go and what we should work towards!

• 2000 home prayer halls in Singapore

• providing and opening mall major prayer halls to allow QSN to conduct camps and educational events, in order to improve the growth of our QSN. Hence, he said this quote "一贯道需要青少年，青少年需要一贯道。”

2. What are your observations of A Grp BYs in your 德属/道场 ?

2 type of BYs : 

1. Quiet and Shy, but they will give constructive/good feedbacks 

2. Active and Noisy, will feedback but is all nonsense (feedback that don’t make any sense)

Challenges they caused: 

1. Challenge you based on their own thinking 

2. Interrupt you during curriculum 

3. Easily distracted during 补习 period 

4. Not self aware enough, just don’t care about their image

5. Not motivated, very low energy (daydreaming) 

   
   

A 组 BY mindset：

• Why do we have to 读经？

• Why must we come 青少年班？

• Why is 礼节 so important?

• I have no choice to come coz my parents force me to be here.

• Why waste my Sunday here, when I can sleep more?

3. A组班员们欠缺了什么, 是值得向大德林前人学习的？

• 基本的礼仪/礼貌

  （acknowledging people u see)

• 保持一个积极/正面的态度

  (how can i think everything positively and make the things i see in ft boring to something that i feel will benefit me)

• Learning to forgive and forget

• "善" ( why do u have to be bad to others when u can be nice to them even if they did something wrong?)

• 慈悲，慈祥 - 林前人成立了一贯道慈善功德会来救灾救难。他也时常鼓励后学们，修道人不只要懂得修办道，更要往外救灾布施。 

• 真诚的对待和关心小小后学们 - 像爱子女的心，爱所有的道亲

• 谦虚：大德林前人常说自己是“二等兵”

• 后学们的长明灯 - 牵引着后学们走向庄敬无比的修道人生，一直指引着后学们，提拔后学们一步步走上学，修，讲，办

Qns 2:

• Most of the A Group BYs are willing to take up any LY opportunities, they will volunteer themselves to LY during PYB (烧香，点送佛灯)

• Most of the A group BYs are active and loves activities that require them to move around

• A group BYs will remember the small little things we (JDYs or even older BYs) do for them. (eg: teaching them how to song fo deng, always taking care of them etc)

• Most of the A group BYs lose focus easily.

• The things that some of the A group BYs say may unintentionally hurt the people around them

• They are much are sensitive, and requires validation from the people around them

Qns 3:

• 宽容: (Thoughtful)

  • Lin Qian Ren prioritise his guests. He will always try to make his guests feel welcomed. For instance, whenever hxm visit TW for TWJX etc, the food that was prepared for us in Tian Huang Gong is something we are comfortable with (toast, coffee, fries for kids etc). He will also make sure that when having a meal, he will pace himself and will never finish before the guests

  • A group BYs can learn to empathize and be considerate toward the people around them. They can also learn to take into account the feelings of others when interacting with them.

• Being Positive:

  • Lin Qian Ren mentioned : “万项事仅一个 “转念”，能转念即光明.” It refers to just a single shift in perspective or mindset can lead to enlightenment or clarity - having positive mindset it very important

  • A Group BYs can learn to adjust their mindset, for instance, by reflecting on past successes, like overcoming a previously challenging question, when encountering setbacks such as failing an exam.

• To smile:

  • Lin Qian Ren will always greet everyone with a smile. “脸上要常挂笑容，心中要充满法喜，身心修持上须效法弥勒祖师之智慧，大度能容，喜迎众生” - 笑脸迎人.  

  • A group BYs can learn to be friendlier toward the people around them, whether it's their friends or DCs, TZs, by greeting them when they see them. Just lik what Qian Ren mentioned, they can learn to forgive others more easily, which will inturn leads to genuine inner happiness.

• 做好事，说好话。

  • Based on what Qian Ren said: 用眼睛看佛境，用耳朵听佛音，用生命做佛事，用嘴巴说佛话，菩萨本凡人，成佛在人间 (meaning: 要成佛，是从我们的心口意开始)

  • A group BYs can learn to perform acts of kindness in their daily lives, such as helping others, sharing, and showing empathy towards those around them. Additionally, they can learn to use kinder words instead of vulgarities or remarks that may cause harm to others. (three wise monkeys)

  • All these daochang not only serve as a 法船to 救渡更多的众生, but also provided us with a safe space and conducive environment to come together to 修道, 近道 （筹办敬老院，让老人家老有所依，老有所养; 建立小学至高等教育的学校，一贯道天皇学院，为道场国家培养人才）

  • A Grp BY POV: We can all study at home, so why have schools? School is a place where we can come together and support each other in our learning. It is a conducive environment with many different engagements and facilities to enhance our learning and other areas of development. Similarly, having such daochang allows hxm to be engaged in different activities to learn and be a better version of ourselves

2. What are your observations of A Grp BYs in your 德属/道场 

Behaviors Observed:

1. Reluctance Towards LY

• While there are BYs who will just do it when asked to LY, some BYs will try their best to avoid LY that may not seem fun (eg.Zhi Li）, usually perceived as a chore rather than a voluntary act.
  (eg. “Why must it be me”, “I do this time, you promise next time I don’t need to do?”)

2. Whining and Lack of Motivation

4. Rowdy and Disrespectful Behaviors

• Some BYs may not manage their emotions well and often get triggered to get physical, some may use inappropriate words (monkey see monkey do)

Possible Reasons:

1. Lack of Understanding of LY's Purpose:

   -  They may not understand why should we LY, come to fo tang to learn and listen to daoyi sharing etc, leading to not being appreciative of such activities

2. Own interpretation of what makes sense and what does not

   - Individualized interpretations or peer influence causing them to have differences in perceiving what is meaningful or worthwhile.

1) 知恩，感恩，报恩，推恩

• to start realizing the efforts of others and not take things for granted

• To develop empathy and practice gratefulness

• To feel willing to give back

• 二等兵的自谦, cultivate humble mindset that doesn't focus on 自我
