They can do it in pairs or in groups. after the teacher explain the challenge and distrubition of the tasks among the members of the group. The group starts to work together. Before they go to the city center and find some tourists, they have to prepare the interview questions to be asked to the tourists. They record the conversations with their mobile phones or tablets, take some notes, etc... At the end they prepare a short film or power point presentation to be present in the classroom.

It is essential that young children get frequent and regular opportunities to explore and learn in the outdoor environment. Kindergarten teachers place strong emphasis on the importance and value of outdoor experiences for children's learning and development. Learning outside the classroom supports the development of healthy and active lifestyles by offering opportunities for physical activity, freedom and movement and promoting a sense of well-being. Learning outside the classroom gives children contact with the natural world and offers them experiences that are unique, such as direct contact and observation of the weather and the seasons, as well as the life cycles of animals and plants. Outdoor play, also, supports children's problem-solving skills and develops their creativity, imagination and inventiveness.
Let us not forget that very young pupils learn predominately through their sensory and physical experiences......

I think that a field trip could be used in this learning scenario. Students could visit a Natural Science Museum , so as to see for themselves the exhibits, make drawings, take notes, ask experts in the field etc. Our students often visit historic sights or museums, especially in the subjects of History or Science and they find it strongly motivating. I think it is much easier for them to work on an activity after having experienced the real thing, rather than being bombardised with input from their teachers. Even if you can't take learning outseide the classroom, you can organise video sessions with other regions or countries. This is the major advantage of E-twinning projects!

I like outdoor activities a lot! My students are used to participate in many outdoor activities - we are having one the day after tomorrow ;-), and at the end, they make an interactive presentation. Most of all, I think OA increases motivation, overall behavior, communication skills, problem solving and decision making skills. They encourage a positive "opting in" and "can do" attitude, reinforcing perseverance and determination. Values and attitudes developed in a context of shared endeavour also help to form a sound basis for responsible citizenship. Outdoor activities are a way of training and recreation that promote active learning through direct personal experience (students take greater responsibility for their own learning) and, at the same time, offers excitement and fun in a relaxed time spent with their teachers and colleagues. At the same time, they fosters sensitivity to the environment, help young people to see themselves in a global context and help to develop citizens with an awareness of the need for sustainable use of the world’s natural resources.

Learning Activities describe, in concrete terms, the work to be done in a classroom. These innovative activities can be experienced independently or in a sequence of activities. An example of a Learning Activity can be the collection of data outside the classroom, the listening of experts on a job done or the creation of a multimedia presentation.

Outdoor activities are a way of training and recreation that promote active learning through direct personal experience. Children who spend more time outdoors make more friends, are generally happier than those who stay indoors, improves mental wellbeing and self-esteem, reduces obesity and can reduce aggression. Learning outside improves attitudes to learning, creates a more active imagination and focus on tasks.

Learning experiences outside the classroom are inherently interdisciplinary. When we go out into the world, we encounter it as a whole and are forced to engage multiple modalities, no matter which pair of disciplinary “lenses” we intended to wear. Therefore, scientists and humanists alike do well to consider the ways in which other disciplines might enrich their own disciplinary approach to their field.

One way to escape the confines of the classroom and to afford students opportunities to grow is to encourage students to learn from and to serve the surrounding community. In its simplest form, this may involve field trips into a community where students will have occasions to have discussions with community members or local experts on an issue related to some content. Even greater learning potentials and community benefits rest in more intensive forms of community engagement in the form of service learning projects. These projects allow students to learn in highly effective ways. In these experiences, student growth can be extensive, whether it is through improved critical thinking and problem solving skills, greater personal efficacy and leadership development, or enhanced social responsibility.

As a Language and Literatura teacher, I have only gone outdoors once or twice during sprngtime to read some love and nature poems and comment on them. Only with elder students.
And, even though it is not an outdoor activity, I have taken some 13-year-old students to a museum, which might be similar to an outdoor scenario.
I handed them some maps of the museum and make them find their way.
I made them do in-place research by looking for features in pictures or for information shown in the exhibit labels. They have to complete a group questionnaire. To incorporate the use of technology they could write a script with "mysteries" and answers to those questions, and then record a video as if they were journalists or archaeologists.

Then I would paste the objects found on a sheet to create a "memory picture."
In the video they show only four pupils who perform the activity, but we usually go out with about 20-25 students, which prevents the creation of similar research activities to those of the video. Usually we visit places of interest to know the history or details, even with the help of experienced guides. In class we produce paper documentation. Now we can create an online portfolio, as seen in the video to be shown to parents and relatives.

We start by saying jungle-themed songs to this project. We will arrange a tour to the forest. There will be two lessons. We will know the first derste forest. Students will be divided into groups, photographing trees and plants and collecting leaf samples. For example the place and date of receipt. Collect information about the leaf samples. Second course recognition of forest school system. They will discover living creatures living together in the forest. Phone and photo machine. They will form food chain cycles. Students will describe their impressions after the forest tour by drawing pictures. In another activity, they will apply tree planting and first care by learning from experts. And finally prepare posters about forest protection. All event data will be shared in twin space. The share of other partners will be tracked and discussed.

Songs related to the subject can be said, pictures can be drawn. Applications can be made by experts.

I worked on a project of recycling Students used to work outdoors while recycling and then making small jewels which they gave to their classmates for a small amount of money or even exchange them with food products in order to help their poor classmates. But it was much easier to discuss about the environment and the climate change and what we the peolpe can do to save nature outdoors . Cleaning seasides, walking on the mountains , visiting recycling units, using the fertile they produced, collecting burned oil from the house, attending seminars. etc gave them the chance to be more creative and much happier.
