My claim is YES the national policies do respond or address issues related to sexual roles and responsibilities. This article describes the first-ever national gender strategy of the Biden-Harris administration, which sets forth an aspirational vision and a comprehensive agenda to advance gender equity and equality in domestic and foreign policy. National policies has a huge impact in addressing issues to sexual roles by establishing legal frameworks, and making policies to protect individuals who in need.

<var>-Dion Jade Macaraig</var>

There are many polices that address issues related to sexual roles and responsibilities, when it comes to sexual roles the latest report of Global Gender Gap mentioned that one of the aspects that makes our country best in performing gender equality is the Magna Carta for women that eliminates the discrimination to women.

It is our responsibility as an individual to respect and treat each other with equality despite of the gender we have. Another article/policy is the World health organization (who) that address the issue about sexual misconduct such as sexua abuse and sexual violence. World health organization stated that it's their responsibility to do no harm and provide a disciplinary actions and prioritize the rights and needs of the victims on the said issues. There are also an article that talks about promoting women's career development and overcoming the barriers of economic empowerment in men and women. This articles is a proof that the national policies are responding to different sexual roles our world is experiencing.

-Mica Francine Parungao 1-M

JACOB, JESERRE AVELLANA
1-M

Do National Policies response or address issues related to sexual roles and responsibilities? : Let seek about this and understand why this is important to do in this kind of issues.
For me yes, there is response about the issues related to sexual roles and responsibilities. According to United Nations Gender Equality was made part of international human rights law by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In addition to being a basic human right, gender equality is necessary for peaceful society, the realization of all people's potential, and sustainable development. Furthermore, research has demonstrated that empowering women increases economic growth and productivity. It is not only response in international but also here in the Philippines, for example of this is women can do what men can. Like in work women can work on companies, and men are can be work at home. In voting the women have right to vote now not unlike before that men are only allow to vote. In education also men are only allowed to be educated, but know women can also study and have right to be educated too. And also in clothing, women can wear whatever they want even if this is for men. See how the gender equality changes the economy.
Gender inequality significantly contributes to poverty, with women experiencing fewer resources, power, and influence compared to men, often due to class, ethnicity, age, and religious fundamentalism. Gender inequality is a key driver of poverty. And a fundamental denial of women's rights.

Sources:

https://www.oxfam.org/en/what-we-do/issues/gender-justice-and-womens-rights

https://www.un.org/en/global-issues/gender-equality

There are various policies and legal frameworks that address issues related to sexual roles and responsibilities.

In the Philippines, the national policies address issues related to sexual roles and responsibilities, particularly through the Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Act (Republic Act 10354). This law includes provisions for comprehensive sexuality education in schools, which aims to promote gender-sensitive and rights-based education. Additionally, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is tasked with integrating RH Law strategies into national poverty reduction and social protection programs, which can indirectly address issues related to sexual roles and responsibilities.

Furthermore, the implementation of the RH Law seeks to empower individuals, especially women, to make informed choices regarding family planning and reproductive health. By providing access to modern methods of contraception and promoting gender equality, the law contributes to challenging traditional sexual roles and responsibilities in society.

In conclusion, while there are national policies in place that address issues related to sexual roles and responsibilities in the Philippines, the effectiveness of these policies in promoting gender equality and changing societal norms may vary and require continuous monitoring and evaluation.

JOMAR C.

The national policies respond to and address issues about sexual roles and responsibilities. They respond to it by making a law and also by having a campaign.

The Republic Act No. 9710 is one of the policies that I can give. This Article shows how it makes the sexual roles and responsibilities equal to each other. The article aims discrimination to stop and empower women to push through opportunities such as earning and learning.

To add to it national policies also respond in a way that they can help both roles, they have equal rights for everyone to have a right to education, and there are also sexual and reproductive health policies that help women take care of themselves and learn more about sexual education, and last is the policies about the workplace where all gender or sex can do the same job and will have the same salary. The national policies also make sure that everyone receives equal rights.

The other link is here: https://www.who.int/initiatives/preventing-and-responding-to-sexual-exploitation-abuse-and-harassment

The WHO didn't just respond but they also aimed to prevent it, they won't tolerate sexual misconduct that includes: exploitation, sexual abuse, sexual harassment (SEAH), and sexual violence.

The WHO also makes a campaign or advocacy about stopping Violence Against Women or what we know as VAWC. Not only one but many campaigns.

Many national policies address the issues about sexual roles and responsibilities, and I can say that they help because now everyone can learn, everyone can work, and everyone can vote. We all have rights now and our duty as citizens is to spread awareness and stop discriminating against each other just because we have different sex.

OLITOQUIT, JAYVIE C. 1-M

I would argue, after studying the article, that national policies do address issues pertaining to sexual roles and obligations, but not enough to abolish gender imbalance in certain areas, particularly in wages. According to a study by the Philippine Statistics Authority, in 2019, women's average daily wage was 13.9% lower than men's average daily wage, indicating a gender wage gap in the country. Laws against unequal pay does exist but not strictly enforced by some employers. Also, I noticed that female participation in politics was much lower than men in 2022 election despite having elected a female president before. Regardless the effort in the promotion of gender equality the government has done, toxic masculinity still circulates among the society which make them think that men are superior. - Arnold Abner Acaso - 1-M

For me my answer is yes, national policies often reflect societal values, and over time, there has been a growing acknowledgment of the need to address issues related to sexual roles and responsibilities. Governments worldwide recognize the importance of gender equality and have implemented policies to address discrimination and promote equal opportunities. For instance, countries like Sweden have implemented parental leave policies that encourage both men and women to share caregiving responsibilities, challenging traditional gender roles. Additionally, initiatives like comprehensive sex education programs in countries such as the Netherlands aim to empower individuals with knowledge about relationships, consent, and sexual health, contributing to a more informed and equitable society.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by United Nations member states further emphasize the importance of gender equality (Goal 5) and good health and well-being (Goal 3). Nations committed to these goals strive to create policies that address sexual roles and responsibilities, promoting a more inclusive and fair society. These examples illustrate the global effort to integrate issues related to sexual roles into national policies, fostering a more equal and just environment.

Reference:

https://www.undp.org/sustainable-development-goals

--Clarisa R.

Do national policies respond or address issues related to sexual roles and responsibilities?

NATHANIEL ROYCE D.L. PEDRACIO 1-M

Our Nation is known for being conservative and sexual roles are not much of a topic. But I believe that it is very relevant. Our National policies do address certain issues about sexual responsibilities as well as gender roles. It is also very obvious that younger generations are well invested in these despite being in a patriarchal system.

My take on this is Yes, Philippine policies do address sexual issues. One example of this is the Republic Act 7877: Also known as the Anti-sexual harassment act of 1995. This law addresses sexual harassment focused on work and education. This law hold companies and institutions responsible for a certain situation of harassment. This is not gender bias and offender can be of any gender, it is any person who requires any sexual favor from the other and it doesn't moatter if the request is accepted or denied.

This policy is very important because it protect individuals from often unseen sources of harassment such as the workplace.
