         <title>Organizations Involved</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>During the March on Washington there were 6 major organizations that were credited with orchestrating and leading the march. They were known as the "Big Six". The first is the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) who represented the young generation of activists. There was the National Urban League (NUL) who were the oldest and largest organization and they worked to document urban poverty and influence public policy. Next was the Negro American Labor Council (NALC) who were known as the elder statesman of the civil rights movement. Then there was the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) who were an interracial group who staged sit-ins, nonviolent protests and passive resistance. Next there was National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) who fought for equal access to all parts of American life and emphasised working with the system"&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

It was the largest demonstration ever held, and the first to have extensive television coverage. This helped to spread their message and influence other activists and supporters to peacefully fight for what they believe in.</div>]]></description>
