I don't have the necklace here with me- it's safe in my room at home, but I do have a mock that I can use that resembles it. It's a cheap one from Spencer's. That's the one I'll put in the box for this project. I don't really care what kind of wood it's made out of, as I want to paint it white or light pink. Probably light pink. I want to have it light pink with white accents or highlights and tiny painted cherries on the top of the box On the inner heart, I want to put pearls on the outside of it. I can get these from Michael's or something. I soon realized that it would have been very difficult, and also very basic in terms of what this project is asking for. My goal was to create a resting place for my great grandmother's necklace that is now in my possession. Instead of just a traditional box with a see through top, I started thinking about other avenues. Like, those little decorative platforms that jewelry will rest on in display cases in fancy stores. That was the idea behind what my box became, a two-walled display area for the necklace. I gave it a sort of mixed beach/garden theme, with the bottom interior of the box meaning to represent water and seaweed. The walls of the box have drawn and faux leaves on them, along with fake flowers, with the intent that it look like vines were growing on the walls of where the necklace was resting. In the middle of the box on the interior bottom is a fake white lily. The necklace can sit on top of this, ideally.
