After completing this activity, I realized that a lot of my time goes to everyday responsibilities that I do not usually think about, like sleeping, eating, getting ready, traveling, and running errands. When I added everything up, I was surprised by how quickly those hours add up. Since I also have school and work, I can see why time management is so important. This activity helped me realize that I need to plan my time better and stop procrastinating so I can stay on top of my assignments without feeling overwhelmed.

-Nayeli Zepeda

I am working 40 hours a week and juggling classes at the same time, but I know how important it is for me to complete these classes for my professional development. This activity is an eye opener and I will continue to manage my time and slow it down after these summer classes to reflect, relax and be ready for fall classes. I do see now that I don't need to rush everything and can take it slower in the fall to ensure that I manage my schedule and have time for some personal fun. ~ LI (Lisa Irrera)

After calculating how i spend my day and how much time i put into school, personal time and getting to school it's made me realize how my time is being spent. And it has made me see what changes I can make to make sure the time I am spending is evenly distributed. If I make changes then i will have more time for specific things rather than putting more time into another and having some wasted time. It has changed the way at look at the time i have in my day and I've made reflections and thought of ways to help myself improve and plan accordingly. - Angela Juarez

I calculated 18 hours of the week spent on work, and 14.1 hours of every day spent doing activities. While this might not have been surprising for me to hear about myself before this, it was surprising for me to hear it after giving some time to reflect over it numerically in comparison to all the hours of my day or all the hours of my week. Over the past 6 years, it's been quite the challenge to convince myself to even dedicate time to working at home beyond chores, but seeing the time I spend on work go up by just a small amount is still something I can be mildly proud of. I'm already grateful that I'm dedicating more time to seriously working and improving on things that are healthy for me.

Oliver Houseknecht

After calculating both charts I’ve realized that my big three keep me more occupied than I thought. My number of hours spent was 63 hours a little higher than the “magic” number. I think I should try to find a healthier balance becasue the time spent on myself was only 20 hours which was way less than my time spent on other responsibilities. Also I feel like I need to focus on stressing less and create better use of my time. - Jocelyn Galarza
