The South continues to nullify laws according to their own opinions. Starting with South Carolina, who will not obey tariffs. This is unconstitutional. The U.S. Government needs to be able to enforce laws and disregarding these laws and nullifying them will tear the country

The South's use of slavery is immoral. It is unethical to force a people group to do work (esp. hard labor, such as picking cotton) because of their race.

The north produced 17x more cotton and wool than the south, 30x more leather goods, and 32x more firearms to every 100 produced in the south

Article I section 8 says that the U.S. can lay imposts (tarrifs) on imports. Also it states that it should be UNIFORM THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES, making the refusal of tarrifs unconstitutional.

Geography in during January, it's cool. The geography was different between the south and north because north had vast forest, while south had like Rivers which made the south easy for farming while it made north harder because it wasn't as productive

States Rights: Confederate state argued that the union had compacted all of the federal governments and ruling.

Election: Upon the election of Lincoln, the confederate was formed knowing that with Lincoln as President a new nation would be formed.

Democrat Party: Over the issue of slavery some in the north supporting abolitionist causes, some supporting accommodation of the south. Northern democrats lost their political power during civil war. Republicans in the North were very dominant with Abe Lincoln winning the election and gained control of congress.
