1. I believe that humans still need to be loyal to their friends and family but it's not something that is needed to survive. For example, I believe that's important to be loyal to your friends and family but it's not something that depends on life or death. This is less important in the 2000's.
2. Of course, being popular or fitting in doesn't mean anything to me. Being loyal is definitely more important than being popular or fitting in. Being popular is just something that I find is so stupid because only the prettiest girls and the girls who have the most Instagram followers and likes are the "popular ones". Being popular also means you have to date the AAA hockey boys and you have to have the trendiest clothes.

Find a picture of “the poem, “Nothing Gold Can Stay” by Robert Frost and include it in your padlet. Answer the following questions.

1. Identify the nature imagery in this poem – there are several

The nature imagery in this poem are:
- early leaf's a flower
- leaf subsides to leaf
- dawn goes down to day

2. What is Robert Frost suggesting with each use of this type of imagery?

What Robert Frost is suggesting with each use of type of imagery is that in the beginning four lines of the poem it´s the start of life and in the last four lines of the poem it´s the end of life. For example, the beginning lines remind me of a flower that's blooming, and starting a new life. For example, the last few lines remind me of the flower that´s dying, by the leaf that subsides.

3. How can this poem relate to The Outsiders and its characters?

This poem relates to ´´The Outsiders´´ and its characters because this poem is kinda how the greasers have to life. They start life together as a family and then they end their lives together as a family. For example, Dallas died because one of his family members had just died. Their whole gang watched as the police shot Dally. Dally had died for his friend. This is kinda like the poem where the leaf starts it´s life, and at the end the leaf turns into a flower, and then dies.

4. Write a theme statement that focuses on this poem and what you have read so far in the novel.

In this poem, the author describes that nothing perfect or beautiful can stay like that. Some examples he uses to show this is in these lines, ´´Her hardest hue to hold´´, ´´So Eden sank to grief´´, ´´So dawn goes to down to day´´. These lines all have the same meaning, nothing good can last, which I believe is the theme statement that´s the focus on this poem. The author uses nature as the main symbol for theme because it shows the cycle of life and death in the four seasons, which provides imagery.
.

The Rumble Summary:

The rumble was set to start at 7 pm. The greasers wore something nice, something to show the Socs that they weren't trash. They wouldn't wear a jacket because it would interfere with their ability to swing. They put more hair oil than necessary to show that they were greasers, and tonight, the greasers would be proud to be greasers. Johnny and Dallas weren't coming to the rumble because they were both still recovering from the fire at the church. So the only people going to the rumble would be Two-Bit Matthews, Steve Randle, Sodapop, Darry, and Ponyboy. In this rumble, you could only use skin, you couldn't use any weapons, therefore it wasn't that dangerous, and Darry let Pony fight in it. The greasers were also going to fight with Tim Shepard´s gang. The Socs were arriving which meant that the fight was about to begin. Darry steps forward and says ´´ I´ll take anyone´´. One Soc steps forward and says he would like to take him. Its Darry´s former buddy, who he used to play football with. The moment either one of them swung a punch the rumble was on. Then, Dallas Winston appeared for the crowd, and Paul, the Soc swung at Darry´s jaw. The rumble was on. Ponyboy and Dally ganged up on the Socs, and Darry was keeping an eye on Ponyboy. The rumble was over once the Socs ran, therefore meaning that the Greasers had won the rumble, but it hadn't look that when from their faces and bodys. They were all bruised, and looked all knocked down. Steve had broken three ribs, Two - Bit had blood streaming down one side of his face, then one of his hands were wide open, and Darry had a black, and a cut across his forehead. For Ponyboy he was dizzy, and felt like he was going to be sick.

Find a picture of “the poem, “Nothing Gold Can Stay” by Robert Frost, and include it in your pallet. Answer the following questions.

1. Identify the nature imagery in this poem – there are several

The nature imagery in this poem is:
- early leaf's a flower
- leaf subsides to leaf
- dawn goes down today

2. What is Robert Frost suggesting with each use of this type of imagery?

What Robert Frost is suggesting with each use of a type of imagery is that in the beginning four lines of the poem it´s the start of life and in the last four lines of the poem it´s the end of life. For example, the beginning lines remind me of a flower that's blooming and starting a new life. For example, the last few lines remind me of the flower that´s dying, by the leaf that subsides.

3. How can this poem relate to The Outsiders and its characters?

This poem relates to "The Outsiders" and its characters because this poem is kinda how the greasers have to live. They start a life together as a family and then they end their lives together as a family. For example, Dallas died because one of his family members had just died. Their whole gang watched as the police shot Dally. Dally had died for his friend. This is kinda like the poem where the leaf starts its life, and at the end, the leaf turns into a flower and then dies.

4. Write a theme statement that focuses on this poem and what you have read so far in the novel.

In this poem, the author describes that nothing perfect or beautiful can stay like that. Some examples he uses to show this is in these lines, "Her hardest hue to hold", "So Eden sank to grief", "So dawn goes to down today". These lines all have the same meaning, nothing good can last, which I believe is the theme statement that´s the focus of this poem. The author uses nature as the main symbol for the theme because it shows the cycle of life and death in the four seasons, which provides imagery.
.
