         <description><![CDATA[<div>Common Experience:<br><br>During the common experience the child there were books about water and different element involving water placed arond the room. Some of the bookd were about the sea, rivers, pools, rainy days,  playing in the water, bathtime, etc. As well, on the tables there were a few bins of water and some water toys for the children to use such a rubber ducks, sea animals,  tubes, cups, boats and spoons. On another table there were some paper and different writing utensils fpr the children to colour and draw what they experience during their explorations at the water table or while looking at the books. I set up the environment in a way that allowed the children to use all the materials in an open ended way.<br><br> I provoked the children by asking them questions such as, what are you drawing, what do you think will happen when you will happen when the boat is put in the water, followed after with what do you think will happen if you put water into the boat while it is on the water, etc. I also asked the children about the books they were looking at and what they knew about water to get them thinking. <br><br>The children asked many question including, why does the boat float, how does the boat float, can I float too?</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Observation: At approximately 1:00pm the children along with a parent went down to a forest where there was a river. The children took turns putting items into the river and watching them float down. The children would make eduvcated guesses and talk with each other about what they think would happen when the item was placed in the water. The children later went back to one of their houses and used a stream of water coming from a hose and put small items such as flowers and leaves in the stream.<br><br><br>Inference: It appeared the children were interested in the flow of the water and the floating of the objects because the continued finding different items throught the observation and putting htme into the stream while watching them float down the with the water. As well, before they put the items into the water they would make predictions of what would happen, for example if it would float or not.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Pool Trip</strong><br>In the pictures below it shows a few of the children participating the floating and swimming lesson on our pool trip. In the middle picture Laura can be seen floating on her back, while holding onto a float board. On the bottom left corner you can see Connor and his mom practicing the leg kicks that the life guard was helping the children learn. Thank you to all the parents/guardians that joined us on the field trip.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Testing Different Liquids (Float Test)<br><br></strong>During this learning opportunity the children explored different liquids including glitter water, juice, oil, and milk to see if it would affect their toys ability to float. Zachary can be seen in the collage below sitting at one of the tables waiting for his turn to test out his theories. Michael can be seen drawing his findings at another table using crayons and paper.</div>]]></description>
