         <description><![CDATA[<div>From 1955-1975<br>By Derien Malone<br><br>*By that time they could mount machine guns on vehicles like a tank.It was often used on air planes for arial assaults. It was also used to mount on cars as well.<br><br>*The M-60 machine gun required a team of 3 people to carry, load, and fire it. It could also be fired from the shoulder as well. Other machine guns before its time had to be mounted on a sturdy object. It was 42 in. long and 23 pounds. It was gas operated, with a 50 round ammunition belt with 7.62mm ammunition belt, and a muzzle velocity of 2,800 ft per second.<br><br>*They standardized the M-60 in February 1957. With the M14 rifle because both were chosen because they could handle the 7.62mm cartridge adopted by NATO.          <description><![CDATA[<div>From 1939-45<br>By Luke Mitchell<br><br>M1 rifle semiautomatic was gas-operated .30-calibre rifle adopted by the united states military in 1936.The Garand gun weighed 9.5 pounds and was fed from an eight-round clip. Its 24-inch barrel was rifled with four grooves for better accuracy. <br><br>The M2 Machine Gun or Browning .50 Caliber Machine Gun is a heavy machine gun.The M2 fires the .50 BMG cartridge which causes greater accuracy from long distance. The closed bolt firing cycle made the M2 usable as a heavy machine gun on airplanes.<br><br>The Madsen machine gun was manufactured in Denmark. The gun weighed 9.07 kg it was one of the heavier guns used in the war. It was 1165 mm in length and could hold up to 40 rounds in the magazine. It was manufactured with Julius A. Rasmussen and Theodor Schoubue.<br><br></div>]]></description>
