Better communication within the team especially with regard to recruitment and the passing of job vacancies to 1) Nicola Hood for inclusion on Stop Press 2) Newspaper job pages.

Joined up thinking needs to happen on this exercise and in addition the team will further review the advice and guidance coming from workcomms

Ask ourselves a question do we respond to e-mails within a reasonable timeframe - If the answer is yes would you be happy to prove it?

All staff to review there methods of working and ensure e-mails are responded to in an appropriate timeframe - this will be revisieted as the SLA is fleshed out.

We need to utilise the shared area on the "o" drive to ensure everybody files everything in the same place.

Karen Burns - to set up files within the "O" drive that will accomidate all correspondence linked to employee relation cases administered in the main by the HR Advisors.

I have a copy of the SLA in my blue folder, iv never read it but will make a concerted effort within the next week. I got given this when i first started employment here. Has it changed much since then?

Follow the link to "our" SLA" - its about to get a face lift but its what we should at least be doing now!

Is there something we can do to engage more with our new staff before they start work...for example can we set their IT log in up in advance and email them links to intranet, induction manual, policies & whatever else we think?

can we use stop press to inform staff about key policies or the workforce profile, staff might be interested to know about our 'make up' and how we compare to local community. can we develop a HR newsletter/blog (god help me!) to promote what we do......don't all rush at once to volunteer!

The Staffing profile - can we look to see if the data we capture is more relevant to kpi's - covering Turnover, Sickness, projected Leavers, Change mgmt., Service Improvement by HR (suggestions from mgmt.), Service length, Performance Mgmt, Appraisal.

Julie Skidmore - is contacting all Area heads to gain a feel for what they want in the profile report.

Can we have a way of collating e-mail addresses of candidates who want a particular job - but currently its not out to advert - using their e-mail we can put them on an emailing list. - this may reduce advertising costs - which must happen in 2014.

This is to be left in the "nice to do box"

Hi Dave,Yes, in theory. See http://www.boltoncollege.ac.uk/content/application-form-full-time-courses-and-apprenticeships for
an example.
This application form goes straight to admissions' email.

The only problem with vacancies would be that people can't log
into our site and therefore can't save halfway through. So though it's
possible, there's a chance they could get halfway through their personal
statement and it crash. It would technically be possible to set up a system
where people log in but this would take extra development (I.e. Time and money)
and isn't on our agenda. You could set one up and tell people to prep their
answers and then copy past them in, but it's a bit of a bad experience.
