Since 1994 this museum has held more Turkmen carpets than any other museum. Each carpet takes about 40 people to make.

The Neutrality Monument, also known as the tripod, is 75 meters tall. It was built in 1998 and is located in Ashgabat

The territory of Turkmenistan has been ruled by many different groups and empires. Among these were the Persian Empire, Alexander the Great, Arabs, Takhirid, Seljuk Empire, and Mogolian armies led by Geghis Khan.

In 1971 in the Kara-kum Desert, Turkmenistan Soviwt geologists began drilling for gas, but drilled into an underground cavern forming a sinkhole. They lit the crater because they feared it would emit poisonous gases. They thought that the gas would burn and the flame would go out, but instead the flame continues to burn today
