Autism and ADHD - NHS Neurodevelopmental service referral information

The NDS pathway is how you refer children for assessment for Autism and ADHD.

Please be aware this can take up to 5 years for the assessment.

In the link there is a parent questionnaire if you complete this and then give this to myself (Rebecca Allum SENDCO) or your child's class teacher we can complete our teacher questionnaire and submit this for you to the service.

There is a quicker route through the 'Right to choose' option for Autism assessment if you are willing to travel for the assessment to Essex. See 'Provide wellbeing' link.

If you would like to explore and Autism diagnosis please contact Provide wellbeing to register, they will provide you will forms and then also ask school to complete some forms.

This will then be triaged within their system and the current wait (June 2024) is around 6 months to be seen for assessment following completion of forms.

Please note this service is free through the NHS right to choose system, however if you believe your child has ADHD also you will need to seek diagnosis for this through the Neurodevelopmental service.
